Another concert for the books! This time I saw the band Griswolds. They’re an alternative/indie band from Australia. One of their most popular songs is Beware the Dog. This was at the same venue I usually go to, The Observatory. I love going here because the concerts are so much smaller and more intimate than bigger and more expensive concerts. I believe this one cost about $20.

The band was definitely very energetic and excited to be in SoCal. Their music was very good and the kind that I love. Me and my boyfriend went with a group of friends from high school and they all had a great time as well. The lights were amazing (as you can probably tell from the photos) and the lead singer made an effort to involve the audience from time to time. However, this time I actually watched from the pit, which I usually don’t do. It’s hard to see over people since I’m pretty short, so actually seeing them perform was a bit difficult. Also it got a little rowdy, which was surprising for the type of music they were playing. It wasn’t really “mosh worthy” type music in my opinion.

Regardless, it was still a great experience. I love the concert atmosphere and being able to see live music with friends. It’s a totally different experience than just listening to a band on an iPod, or SoundCloud, or whatever else. If you’ve never been to a concert, I definitely recommend spending the money to go to one. If anything, just go to a small concert like this. It’s something you’ll have to look back on and a fun summer activity. If you’ve been to an amazing concert that was unforgettable, let me know which band it was in the comments! It’s so fun finding more amazing performers to go see.
