Well, time’s up. My sweets summer is gone. It was four amazing months full of fun in the sun and endless memories. I can’t hardly believe it’s over, it seriously flew by for me. Feels like just yesterday I was moving out of my dorm in San Diego. But tomorrow, it’s time to head back to school and move into my new dorm. Luckily, this year, along with my family, my boyfriend is helping me move as well! I’m so grateful for his help, since I tend to overpack.
Tomorrow is also our last day together. He goes back to Boston soon and I start school in a couple days. I’m going to miss him, but I’m actually taking a trip to go see him during Thanksgiving! So I’ll be on the east coast for the first time in a few months; I’m so excited to see so many new things with him. Long distance is hard at times, but looking forward to seeing that person is so exciting and totally worth it when you’re back together. Boston, here I come! If you guys would like some advice or what I think about long distance, please comment below!
But, more about college and moving in! So last year was my freshman year of college and a team of college students moved every single box of mine from the car straight into my dorm room. However, this year I don’t get that luxury. Usually how it goes is you park, move all your boxes into your room and right away begin to put everything away. Theres so many boxes and things to organize that you don’t have space to let it sit there. So, if you’re moving into college, get to it and get it done as quick as you can! Most likely, you’ll have one roommate or multiple roommates who need to get their stuff away as well. This year, I am living in one big room with three of my very good friends. I can’t wait to see what this year will bring and the awesome experiences I’ll have with them!
This year, I am blessed to be living directly on the coast. My dorm is located on the cliffs and every night I am able to step out and soak in the beauty of a sunset. Every night. I consider myself very lucky that I am able to do this. It is very soothing and lovely to watch. There will probably be a ton of sunset pictures coming soon and also posted on my Tumblr!
I am taking quite a few Graphic Design courses this semester, since that is what I’m majoring in. I’m so excited for that! But also, I will hopefully be having a babysitting job on top of school. I’m looking forward to having a bit of money coming in and filling my time doing something useful and rewarding. Another huge part of this year is: I get to bring my car! Last year we weren’t allowed to bring our cars, so we relied on shuttles, trollies, and trains. I think it’ll be so much easier to get around and go to different events when I have my car, so I’m super stoked about that.
It’s hard to imagine that after this year, I will be halfway done with college! I feel like I’m still a senior in high school. It’s really insane how fast time flies in college. If you’re a soon to be college student, and a little nervous about your new life and new experiences, try not to be! Time literally flies during college and you’ll be standing with your friends during your graduation ceremony in the blink of an eye! Anyways, I just wanted to update you guys on where I am right now and what’s to come. I hope to keep up this blog like I have this summer during the school year. This blog is such a huge passion of mine and I don’t want to let that go. If you guys have any college advice for me, I’d absolutely love to hear it! <3
