July Favorites!

Hi loves! I know I’m writing this a bit late, but I really wanted to show you what I was loving during the month of July. This month is so bittersweet for me. It’s a great time to have fun with summer activities, but it’s also the halfway point to starting school again. It makes me want to fit in every exciting event that I can. This month, I went to some fun places and bought some new things pertaining to fashion and beauty!

So let’s start off with something I’ve been obsessed with lately that’s super simple and completely wearable. I bought this necklace from Nordstrom and it’s definitely out of my comfort zone since I usually tend to go more towards black necklaces with silver. This is the complete opposite though, a beige color with gold hardware. I have to say though, I absolutely love it! I wore this with a purple/burgundy shift dress and a black hat and it was the perfect accessory for the outfit! I’m hoping to get photos of that outfit up on the blog soon!

The next couple items will be beauty products that I’ve been wearing almost everyday! Winged eyeliner has quickly become a part of my everyday makeup routine. In the past I have only used a black eyeliner, but this summer I decided to switch it up. I bought the Stila Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Dark Brown. I knew if I used a brown instead of a black, it would give any look a more natural and softer feel. It is a very pointed pen to get that sharp winged look. It’s been perfect for the summer and I love experimenting with different makeup products! It’s definitely something I recommend trying out for yourself!

The next product I never saw myself purchasing or needing. I naturally have fairly thick eyebrows and I never used to add any product to them. I would normally not touch them during my makeup routine or simply give them a brush through. However, I bought the Anastasia Brow Wiz in Taupe to thicken up the ends of my brows a little for a more dramatic makeup look during nights out or events. It’s slightly lighter than my natural brow color, so it gives the perfect dimension. I’m glad I asked a sales person about the color, since I definitely would’ve bought a shade that is too dark for me on my own. It is double sided, so one end is the product and the other is a spoolie to brush through your brows with.

My next favorite is actually an art product! I wrote about teaching myself calligraphy in a past post, and I’ve continued to love it. I bought these calligraphy markers to keep practicing and I knew they would give a different look than pen and ink (which is normally used for calligraphy). These markers can be used for many things like anime drawings, even though that’s not my style. I’ve been loving these for trying out different typefaces and experimenting with color. I bought these at Blick art store for about $20 from the brand Tombow. If you’re thinking about getting into calligraphy, I definitely recommend starting out with these!

The last thing I’ve been loving during the month of July (and the beginning of August) are going to concerts! Summer is definitely concert season for me and I usually attend many when I’m home from school. These past couple weeks I have seen Declan McKenna in San Diego and The Wombats in Orange County. I’m a little bummed I wasn’t able to take my Nikon to these concerts to get better photos, but I definitely don’t want to break that. Anyways, here’s a couple photos from those concerts and a sample of some of their works! They are both very alternative/rock artists and great performers!
