Hello lovelies! So a bit of a different post today. Do you need something to kick start your fitness journey? Or need something to keep you motivated to stay healthy? I’ve got the thing for you! Wow, that sounded like an infomercial, but its true! I found a great little system to keep you (and me) excited to be fit. Keep on reading to find out how!
As I was scrolling through YouTube one night, I stumbled along a video that seriously inspired me. To a keep it short, a lovely girl named Janie Aubill decided to do 500 crunches a week for one month. That meant 100 crunches a day, five days a week. I’ll link her video here. I believe she was inspired to do this challenge through another YouTuber who did 500 crunches A DAY, and she’ll mention that in the video if you’re interested. I am not someone who has a very strong core, but I have been really motivated lately to change that. At first, 100 crunches a day seemed a little intimidating, but I thought I’d give it a try! And after seeing her results video, I was convinced I was going to give it a try!
So the first week of this challenge actually went very well! I did classic crunches without any variations. I would split up the 100 crunches so it wasn’t so intimidating. I would do them in groups of 30, 20, or even 10! I was dedicated each day to doing the 100 crunches and maybe it was my mind playing tricks on me, but I thought I saw a very slight difference in my body. I started on a Monday and believe I continued on Tuesday and Wednesday, then took my rest day on Thursday. Finally, I completed the remaining 200 crunches on Friday and Saturday. Sunday was again a rest day. My first week of 500 crunches was complete and I was feeling so determined to finish the month!
*Disclaimer: If my form was not correct when doing a crunch, I would redo it and not count the incorrect one into my number for that day. I have also been snacking less, eating healthier meals, and drinking LOADS of water!
The second week was very similar to the first and even involved extra crunches! I did different variations of crunches that incorporated my legs more. This made it possible for my upper and lower abs to get a workout. The second week I completed a total of 560 crunches and I felt amazing! I can say for certain that my core is feeling extremely strong (much stronger than it usually is, anyway) and I have really enjoyed this challenge so far!
So currently as I am writing this, I have just completed the first day of my third week and I have definitely seen a slight difference in my upper abs. I plan on continuing this challenge, but the reason I am writing this post before I finish the full month of crunches is because I’m leaving for my trip in a few days. Unfortunately, the end of the third week marks the start of my Europe trip, so I’m not sure what’s going to happen. I did not want to forget to write about this challenge because I think it is so motivating and could make so many of you feel great and strong! I would love to finish the full month while I am in Europe and I am definitely going to try. But after walking miles and miles everyday, to be honest I’m not sure I will have the energy to finish the challenge:( I’m super bummed about this, but I would love to restart it once I get back and give you all a comprehensive review of the full challenge. I’d also like to mention that every person’s body is beautiful, but I personally wanted to make a little change to feel healthier and mainly, stronger by trying out this challenge!
