Hi loves! Let’s be real for a second. Even though we all have busy lives when it comes to being a full time student or having a full time job, we have those days once in a while where all we want to do is be lazy. Lazy days are important to regroup and take care of yourself mentally. While I am at a point in my life where I love being busy and I welcome a full schedule with open arms, I’m okay with being lazy once in a while. Recently I’ve been looking through Hulu and they have so many of the old shows I was SO invested in during high school. In honor of my old high school days, I thought I’d share a list of shows with you that will probably completely waste your time, but are extremely entertaining (at least in my book.) Many of these are quite silly but a part of me can’t stop binging some of them when I have free time. Let me know if there’s any you’ve watched before or if there’s any you’re interested in!
1.Vanderpump Rules: This reality show is centered around the staff at Lisa Vanderpump’s well known restaurant SUR (Sexy Unique Restaurant). These aspiring actors and singers are full of drama and have extreme egos. While they are beautiful people, their tempers and confrontations at times lead to their downfall and a loss of close friends. Lisa herself has to reel them in when the claws come out and things get messy. If you love reality shows, you’ll definitely obsess over the staff of SUR.
2. Catfish the TV Show: This is one of my favorite reality shows EVER. The hosts of Catfish, Nev Schulman and Max Joseph are two caring guys who help people who have been lied to online. In almost every episode, someone reaches out to them wanting to find answers to their confusing romantic relationships. Some have Facetimed and texted whoever they have been talking to for months and at times years! Nev and Max are the perfect people to help and are clearly very caring and patient when it comes to these types of situations. The show is always extremely suspenseful and mysterious, so if you’re into that type of thing definitely check out Catfish on Hulu!
3. Long Island Medium: This is the newest show I’ve been binging. It’s a great one to have in the background while you’re folding laundry, which is what I’ve been doing all day! Theresa Caputo is who Long Island Medium is all about. She claims she can connect with spirits and communicate messages to their loved ones. This is truly a touching show and whether you believe in her gift or not, she is a genuinely loving and sincere person. At least that’s what I can pick up from watching many episodes. As for myself (and as a Christian) I’m not quite sure if I believe in her gift. Sometimes I think, “Wow, maybe this is a gift from God so she can truly help those who are suffering from a loss.” But I also know that doesn’t 100% align with Biblical teachings, so I’m not quite sure where I’m at with that. Whatever the answer is, she is a lovely person who brings comfort to whoever seeks her out. Definitely recommend this series if you’re into the whole supernatural thing!
4. Keeping Up With the Kardashians: Yes, yes I know. Sage, why are you putting this freaking show on the list?? My answer is, I don’t know. But it’s guaranteed to waste your time on a lazy day! Honestly, as ridiculous as this family is, they are definitely entertaining. I’ll admit I don’t understand how they came into so much fame, aside from the fact that their dad was O.J. Simpson’s attorney and Kim was in a sex tape. Of course, I think they have worked hard with their clothing stores, modeling careers, and the Kylie Lip Kits we all know too well. Their lives are extravagant and sometimes its fun and hilarious to find yourself lost in their daily routines on the show. If you haven’t seen it, check it out and let me know what you think.
5. Awkward: Wow, do any of you remember this show? Awkward came out when I was starting high school (I believe) and it is one of the most ridiculous shows I’ve ever watched. I mean that in the best way! The actors are amazing and each episode will usually have you rolling on the floor laughing. I haven’t binged it yet, but I won’t be surprised if I do. Who remembers the iconic phrase from Sadie “You’re welcome” in her snooty little voice? I know I do. Check out Awkward if you want to experience a little high school throwback and watch the misfortunes of one girl and those around her.
Let me know if there’s any other random shows you like to binge on a boring day! Hulu seriously has the best selection of random old shows like these, so definitely check it out (especially if you’re a U.S. student!) So with that, I will talk to you guys in the next post and leave you with a nice “You’re welcome!”
I love watching Keeping Up With the Kardashians, it’s definitely my guilty pleasure! I always binge Gossip Girl or Parks and Rec on my lazy days.
