Hello, lovelies! When I firsts started this blog, I used to write quite frequently about the music I was into. Ever since I started playing piano at age five, music has been a significant part of my life and I truly believe someone’s music taste says a whole lot about them (including myself). Music digs deep and has the ability to describe and paint situations that are hard for us to verbalize. Anyways, without going on a whole rant about my feelings towards music, I thought I’d share my Spring 2018 playlist from Spotify. I know some people have giant playlists filled with hours of music, but I tend to create a lot of smaller playlists depending on my mood or the season. I haven’t added to taken away from this playlist in a while, so you’re getting one of the first versions of it!
I’d describe my music taste as saturated in alternative bops. Coldplay was my first love and since then my love of alternative music has blossomed. So I’ll describe this playlist by artist, since some are featured a few different times. My Spotify username is sagepetersen, if any of you would like to follow me. I don’t usually interact much on Spotify, but if you guys like this playlist, I’ll definitely be more active and make more posts about it.
Panic! at the Disco
Of course, this is very expected of me, LOL. Ever since the concert, I’ve been in a big Panic! and throwback phase. Most of these songs are from their very first album, the classics! Most of the titles from the first album are very long and aren’t a part of the lyrics of the actual song. These songs include:
- The Only Difference Between Martyrdom and Suicide is Press Coverage
- LA Devotee
- Build God, Then We’ll Talk
- There’s a Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered Honey, You Just Haven’t Thought Of It Yet
Paramore
This is where my rock and roll side kicks in. Paramore has some amazing hits from way back when, but their newer sound is memorable as well! Who can forget good ol’ Misery Business? I only have a couple songs from them on my Spring playlist, but they’re definitely one of my favorite bands of all:
- Last Hope
- Hard Times
Billie Eilish
Billie Eilish is one of my newer obsessions. I discovered her a little over a year ago because of her song Ocean Eyes, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Whenever I have her playing in the car, whoever is riding with me always asks who the artist is…and it’s always Billie! She really is killing the music game right now; she is extremely unique and has one of the loveliest voices I’ve ever heard. If you’re a Billie Eilish fan, you probably caught my reference to her new song! š I have quite a bit from her on the playlist:
- my boy
- Six Feet Under
- watch
- lovely (with Khalid)Ā
- ocean eyes
MUNA
This is a band I discovered at the beginning of this year. I heard them mentioned on the radio, where they played a snippet of one of their songs. It really drew me in so I thought I’d look them up. I ended up loving their sound, and they’re one of my go-to’s now. I’d definitely recommend checking them out if you’ve never heard of them. If you’d like an extremely brief synopsis of them, they are the chiller, female version of The 1975. I put a couple of my favorites on the playlist:
- Winterbreak
- I Know A PlaceĀ
Random Songs & Artists
The rest of my Spring 2018 playlists consists of a montage of random songs and artists that really set the mood for my last semester of college. Some of these I love listening to when I’m doing a glam makeup look or getting ready for a night out, others are great for a nice drive!
- Dua Lipa: New Rules
- Marshmello, Khalid:Ā Silence
- Bleachers:Ā Don’t TakeĀ the Money
- Lorde: Homemade Dynamite (Feat. Khalid, Post Malone, & SZA)
- A R I Z O N A: Cross My Mind
- Willow: Marceline (this song is adapted from the show Adventure Time and it honestly has such a great vibe!)
- Khalid: Location
- Fall Out Boy: 20 Dollar Nose Bleed
- Floatinurboat: Spirit of Things (great for makeup tutorials)
- Kendrick Lamar: All the Stars (with SZA)
- Calum Scott: Dancing on my Own (Scott is from the X Factor!)
Let me know if I had any of your favorites on this list! I love connecting with people that have a similar music taste as me, so definitely give me a follow on Spotify or let me know in the comments below! By the way, I’m hoping to photograph a new makeup look soon, I’ve just been waiting for this cold to get out of my system! Thanks for your patience, talk to you all soon!
Thanks for sharing, you have a lot of great songs on here.
