Girl Squad Meetup in Hermosa Beach!

Hey everyone, hope your week is going so well! Things have been a bit hectic for me, but in so many good ways. I have been getting back into some graphic design projects and working hard on improving my Instagram. With that being said, I recently met a lovely group of gals through the app! We have been chatting quite a bit and they are all honestly so lovely and motivating. They are all fashion and beauty Instagrammers, and if you want to check out any of their pages, I’ll be linking them in this post.

We ended up meeting in Hermosa Beach, at a restaurant called American Junkie, which I’d highly suggest for brunch and apparently they have some awesome nightlife as well. With pingpong, plenty of T.V.’s for sports, food, drinks, and a DJ booth, you can make some great memories at this place. Not to mention, it’s right across the street from the beach and plenty other restaurants if you want to try something different.

Not only did American Junkie have mimosas, but I ended up ordering their Zen Bowl, which had eggs, spinach, brown rice, mushrooms, and more. I topped it with a bit of ketchup and it was a healthy, filling breakfast that got me through the afternoon.

Outfit details: I’m wearing a new sundress that I got from Melrose in the O.C. I’ve surprisingly been finding lots of sundresses lately from various places, but specifically from PacSun! Since the summer weather isn’t quite here yet, I threw over my favorite denim jacket from TopShop. Being the edgy girl that I am, I threw on my black Doc Martens to tie everything together. It was such a comfy look, but I felt super put together at the same time.

You can check out other ways to style Doc Martens in my How to KILL IT Wearing Doc Martens: Three Ways to Style Them (Collab with Mademoiselle O’Lantern)

All of these girls were so empowering and it’s very encouraging to be around people who are moving towards the same goal and want to help you succeed. You can do things alone in this world, and you MUST surround yourself with positivity. Check out all of their beautiful fashion/lifestyle Instagram feeds here: Caitlin Ashlie, Rachelle Dupré, McKenna King, Lukela Annigoni, and Cheridan Taylor. We also have an Instagram page for the entire group called @goldengirlscrew_socal! Be sure to follow the page to keep updated on all our journeys and even some giveaways coming up!

Of course, I can’t go without a pair of high waisted black jeans. They are seriously my favorite and I love how they looked with our girl squad tees! We ended up ordering custom t-shirts from a lovely girl on Instagram called @sweetcharlottesmoon. The shirts were so comfortable and had our group name on it: Golden Girls Crew!

For the rest of the day, we walked around quite a bit getting content and taking photos. To be honest with you guys, my college didn’t have any sororities so I was never a part of any girl groups or sisterhoods. This day definitely made up for that, and it was so cool to create awesome things! I love being around other artistic people, and that’s hard to find after college. I’d recommend if you are just graduating college, try to get plugged into some groups whether that’s some fashion bloggers from Instagram, or simply a group that hikes or works out once in a while! Don’t be afraid to reach out and take chances. This is your time!

I hope you guys enjoyed this little post about my brunch and day spent with the Golden Girls Crew! Again, be sure to check out all of their Instagrams and follow our page for lots of photos from Southern California and giveaways! Plenty of updates to come.

Side note, I’m turning 23 on Thursday! It’s such a weird thought, and I could never imagine myself at this age but here we are! Here’s to my last blog post as a 22 year old, life is just going too fast. I’ll talk to you all very soon with more springtime OOTD’s and more! xx

This is so cute! I am determined to find a similar Instagram group now in London as it sounds like you all had such a good time and it does definitely remind me of a sorority a little bit. The t-shirts are so cute! xx

Haha so glad you like the shirts! And yes, tbh I always heard how important it is to collaborate and work with other bloggers. But I never really understood JUST how important it is until I met these girls. They’ve also become some of the sweetest friends! xx
