Hi everyone! Hope your weeks are off to a fantastic start. If you follow my over on Instagram, you’ve probably seen all my posts about the flower fields. I honestly just had so many photos from my visit and the flowers were just stunning. How could I NOT post about them? LOL. I figured they deserved their own blog post, especially if any of you are interested in taking a trip over to Carlsbad (near the San Diego area). So without too much of an intro, let’s get straight into the photos!
First off, when you first get to the gate of the flower fields there is an entry fee. I believe for each person it was about $18. A bit of a price to pay to see these flowers, but the whole day was totally worth it! You then walk in and are of course greeted by tons of flowers. There are usually lots of families that are here, especially in the afternoon on a sunny day. As you take a short walk up to the fields, you can see every color imaginable from these flowers (except maybe blue flowers, do they even make blue flowers? Let me know in the comments!)
I’ll go through a quick OOTD for you guys. I recently have been checking out the Revolve site. I normally thought it was too pricey for me, but I’ve honestly found SO MANY adorable sun dresses for an acceptable price. I found this one from the brand Super Down on Revolve, which you can check out on my 21 Buttons page here. I will make a whole post about this, but you can shop all my looks through 21 Buttons, which links you directly to every clothing item!
This piece is a wrap dress, so it’s very versatile with any body type! It has poofy sleeves, which normally I’m not a huge fan of. However for the new spring season, I’m loving this trend! Small black dots cover the entirety of the dress, which I think is so cute! Another big trend this year was ruffles. Again, it’s usually a bit too girly for my taste but I’ve been trying to embrace it! This dress has ruffles on the bottom, and honestly I think it matched perfectly with the daintiness of the flowers.
Some of my favorite flowers were the pink and coral colored ones. They were the most beautiful shades. Each row of flowers was separated by color, so you could chose which colors you wanted to explore! From yellow, orange, pink, white, and so much more, this really is a special event and one of the most beautiful flower fields I’ve ever laid eyes on!
I threw over my cropped denim jacket (which I’ve been obsessed with) since you never know when the wind is going to pick up. I’ve been wearing it with literally every outfit, so let me know if you guys are tired of seeing it, LOL! As for accessories, I’m wearing my circle straw bag from Urban Outfitters, which I specifically love for the spring and summer seasons. It surprisingly holds everything I need: my keys, sunglasses, wallet, phone, and of course some lip balm. I also brought along my hexagonal Ray Ban sunglasses, which I’ve been wearing nonstop and loving a ton!
There are other places to explore around the flower fields as well! For example this cute white gazebo with flowers hanging from the top. There’s also smaller areas with a variety of flowers and even bird hutches with tons of little birds flying around. It’s such a great little spot for a date and the perfect way to kick off spring!
A little disclaimer: no flowers were harmed or squished during the taking of these photos. A lot of bloggers/influencers were getting comments about not taking care of the flowers or stepping on them. However, I was very respectful and made sure to keep on the dirt and not crush the beautiful flowers! We want to enjoy them for as long as possible too!
Hope you all enjoyed this post! Let me know if you’ve ever been to these flower fields in Carlsbad and if you liked the outfit! Feel free to drop any questions below in the comments and I’ll talk to you all very soon! xx
