Cool(a) for the Summer

Hi everyone! Today’s post is dedicated to one of my new favorite beauty brands: Coola! I genuinely hope you appreciate the title of the blog post because I was pretty proud of myself, lol. As you all know, summer is on it’s way whether we are in quarantine or not. I still want to try and make the new season as fun and normal as possible, which has meant spending lots of time in the backyard soaking up the sun and swimming in the pool. Luckily, our backyard gets lots of gorgeous sunlight so I enjoy spending days tanning, eating lunch on our picnic table, and writing blog posts on my beach towel. My sister has also managed to get one of our surfboards in the pool, which almost makes us feel like we’re back at the beach and in the waves. Anyways, I’ve definitely been breaking out my sunscreen to protect my skin and Coola has sent over some of their amazing products! Keep reading to check out why I’m loving this brand so much!

There are a few things that make Coola stand out from other beauty brands. I was so happy to hear that the brand is cruelty free, vegan, gluten free, and even reef friendly! As someone who grew up in California and spent so much of her childhood in the ocean, the conservation of marine life and reefs are so important. It’s very reassuring to know that if I wear this sunscreen in the waves, I won’t be affecting the natural environments of the sea. How flippin’ cool is that, guys?!

Another great aspect about the brands is that over 75% of their packaging is recyclable. It’s made of sugar-cane resin, which I had never heard of before. I love how Coola is making strides to create a healthier world! I received a couple items from them, one being their Classic Body Sunscreen in Guava Mango and their Classic Face Sunscreen in Cucumber. I can tell you guys that both these products SMELL AMAZING! I’ve used quite a bit of sunscreen during my life in SoCal, but this by far smells the best! You would never know I was wearing sunscreen, I honestly have worn it as perfume because it’s so good.

One last thing I wanted to include about Coola is that their sunscreen isn’t super heavy. In the past I’ve also collabed with companies like Neutrogena, who have a very light sunscreen that is very comfortable to wear. Coola’s products are very similar to that and doesn’t leave me feeling oily at all. Of course, I need to quickly mention the packaging as well. I adore the bright blue color of the tube; it really gives that summery vibe that I’m always looking for. I definitely recommend trying their products if you see them at Ulta, Sephora, Macy’s, or on their website!

Have you tried Coola products before? Let me know in the comments! Also, do you have any plans for this quarantined summer? I’m always looking for something new to do around the house! Talk to you guys soon! xx

Loving the pun! I am so jealous of you for having a pool and a backyard – both of those sound dreamy at present with all the warm weather we have been having! Will have to settle for a bbq on our small shared garden instead… xx

I’ve felt super blessed that my parents have a pool at their house! A BBQ sounds so fun, I’ve been wanting to do that recently!
