2020 Year in Review: Outfits, Personal Life & More!

Hey everyone, Merry Christmas! I know this year looks a little different. We’re not able to celebrate the way we usually do or participate in traditions that we love. If that’s you this year, I totally sympathize. However, I’m hopeful that next year will look a little brighter and closer to the new normal. Personally, I’m having a quiet Christmas at home with my immediate family, just relaxing and of course eating lots of yummy food. For today’s post I wanted to do a review of 2020 (including my favorite outfits and goals we hit on Instagram). While this year has honestly been the most difficult year of my life (and I don’t say that to complain or seek sympathy, I just know a lot of you can relate and have gone through some pretty rough times as well), it’s also been filled with so much excitement and goals reached.

I’ve felt incredibly blessed at my new job and couldn’t have imagined something more perfect for me. If you’re looking for that next step in your career, I encourage you not to give up. I know the process can be difficult and tiring, but to find that perfect company or that perfect position is SO worth it. So many people told me not to give up on finding the ideal career (which sounded so annoying at the time), but they were right. At one point or another, you find just the right fit that will encourage creativity, hard work and recognize it. I have many other friends who have also found jobs during Covid, which is a huge feat within itself.

ALSO I seriously can’t believe it but WE REACHED 10K ON INSTAGRAM! I’ve mentioned on my story that follower count is such an aesthetic thing and definitely NOT the most important aspect of Instagram. But it does feel good to know that my efforts when it comes to content creation are being seen and that you guys are enjoying my content. The fact that I notice friends who have been active on my page for YEARS is just bonkers to me. I am so so grateful for each and every one of you and it’s because of your support that I get opportunities I couldn’t even dream of before. I know that my page is still small, but I am incredibly thankful that I have this platform to share my thoughts, my style, my advice and most importantly, my faith. I’m so excited to see how far I can take my content creation skills and how my audience will grow. Something I love most about my page is how positive, uplifting, and kind my audience is. I couldn’t dream of anything better when it comes to being so involved online, and its all because of YOU.

Alright, let’s get into a few of my favorite looks from this year. You guys loved these outfits on Instagram too!

BEACHY NEUTRALS

Honestly, I didn’t know I loved the combination of neutrals and denim so much until this outfit! I’ve been obsessed with peasant tops recently, especially when paired with a warm toned cardigan or jacket. Granted, this fall look is definitely made for California weather, but nonetheless you guys LOVED this one when I posted it. So thank you for all the love!

PALMS TO PINES

I’m swapping my usual palm trees for beautiful pine trees in this look. I’ve loved the oversized turtleneck trend, and of course I caved to leather leggings. The combo is perfect for a cozy Christmas inside or a walk around the neighborhood. I’ve recently been obsessed with this Lack of Color hat, which is a stunning neutral rancher style. Actually, it was hand delivered to my door MINUTES before I left for this shoot. It was meant to be!

A CALIFORNIA WINTER

Even though I’m such a summer girl, I always get excited for beanie season. They’re so comfortable to wear and edge up any outfit. I recently found the most perfect beanies, and they’re INSANELY cheap. I bought them in this beautiful cream color and of course, black. I’ve also been loving this blush coat. It’s so warm and I love the mature look of it.

CASUAL BY THE SEASIDE

Okay, this one definitely has to be one of my absolute faves of the year. I just feel so…me…in it. Does that make sense? I’m a sucker for an oversized tee and these are my go-to light wash jeans. I can’t tell you how many people comment about these white boots every time I wear them. They’re one of my best purchases of the year and honestly surprisingly comfortable!

SHOP THE LOOK

COFFEE ON THE PIER

Oversized sweaters have been another go-to for me this year (and every year to be honest). I love this simple gray scale look with a black beanie. It’s just the coziest thing you’ll ever wear, especially paired with some high top white leather Converse. I love throwing on an outfit like this, grabbing a coffee, and taking a walk by the water. Not to mention, there was the cutest Christmas tree at the end of the pier this year!

That’s about it for my year in review. While this year has been a complete whirlwind with the highest highs and very low lows, I hope this year has brought some positives for you. Sending so much love to each and every one of you as we wrap up 2020 and look toward a hopeful 2021. Let me know if you have any resolutions for 2021 or goals you have in mind! Talk to you all soon! xx

I love your Instagram & your blog as not only do they give off a chilled & calming vibe (I love the ocean & the beach) but all of the photos are gorgeous and your editing is always on point (seriously, teach me your ways?!). Congratulations on 10k – you deserve each and every one of them! 🙂 xx
