What To Wear To Work OOTD!

Hello lovelies! Since I have just graduated from college and in the process of applying for jobs, I got a seasonal position back at Nordstrom! I’ve worked at the department store seasonally on and off since I was 18, so I’m very familiar with retail etiquette and how to build bonds with customers. I really enjoy the environment there and the company is honestly so good to their employees. I feel very lucky to have a place there. That being said, I’ve had to do a bit of shopping so my wardrobe fits the dress guidelines. I’ve found some great pieces that would work for your average work day for many people! Thought I’d share that today on the blog, so keep reading to see the look!

What I love so much about this outfit is how casual but put together it is. For my job, we cannot have any rips or holes in our jeans, which is a bummer for me because that’s all I ever buy, LOL. These jeans however, have been a pleasant surprise for me. I love how the bottoms are cut so they look asymmetrical and geometric. I’m all about that geometric look! They’re also a bit high waisted, which is something I really love in a good pair of jeans. Luckily the high waisted look has been very in style lately, so I’ve taken full advantage!

Okay, let’s just talk about this top for a minute. The stripes..the tie…the hood! I can’t get enough of it. This is what I call effortless style. I love when I can put one piece of clothing on and it creates a complete look! This top is super flowy, (which of course, if you know me, is practically all I buy) especially when it comes to the sleeves. The bell sleeves give such an elegant, yet bohemian vibe which is also repeated in the hood. I would have never though to put a hood on a top like this, but I seriously adore it. It’s also a bit of a crop top, making it the perfect summer statement piece. As you may have noticed from my last OOTD, I’ve been super into stripes and I’m not sorry about it!

workootd6.JPG

Facetune-2.jpg

Outfits like these are great when it comes to working. Walking around for hours in a store, at a restaurant, or in an office can get a bit tiring. Having something that I’m comfortable walking a lot in, but is also super fashionable is what I strive for. If you’re looking for some great work outfits, try aiming for comfortable blouses that can be dressed up with jewelry, hair, and makeup (if you’re into that).

workootd1.JPG

These shoes from Madewell have been my prized possession for a few weeks now. I wore them to my Graphic Design portfolio review, and they were absolutely perfect. Of course, with any heeled shoe, they got a bit uncomfortable around the fifth hour, but I can honestly say they’re some of the best heeled sandals I have. The material is actually very soft and flexible, which was great for being on my feet that day. I think they work very well with the blue stripes in this blouse as well. Unfortunately, I probably won’t be able to wear them during work, but for a casual look I’ll definitely be rocking them!

Hope you all loved this OOTD! I’m bringing both these piece to Europe with me and this top has been all over my Instagram! I also hope you don’t mind my little fiddle leaf plant making a cameo in all of my OOTD’s. It’s just the perfect accent to my room and brightens up my photos. As of right now, I’m in London so again, if you have any great places in mind that you’d recommend, please let me know down in the comments! xx

Away to London Town OOTD

Hi guys! Wow, it’s been so long since I’ve done an OOTD. I missed posting about them so much. I recently have been buying a few pieces to wear to London and Paris, but also to wear to my job at Nordstrom this summer. Yes, I’m working there again and I’m super excited! The look I put together today has all the summer vibes and will hopefully make for some great Europe photos and memories. I can’t wait to bring a little bit of California to London! Check out the full look below.

I’ve been finding myself buying a lot of white lately. Maybe because it makes your skin look way more tanned? LOL, whatever the case is, I’ve been loving it and it matches with so many different pieces. This top in particular is very out of my comfort zone since I rarely buy crop tops, but I’m glad I’m trying something new. I love the three buttons on the front, as they add a very bohemian/summery vibe. The tie is also one of my favorite things about this top. It’s super feminine and makes sense for the cut of this flowy blouse.

londontown_ootd3.JPG

londontown_ootd7.JPG

The textures and patterns of this top are simply stunning. I love how a white threading was used to create the shapes instead of some other color. The white on white is so elegant. I love a good top that has some longer sleeves as well, but they definitely aren’t too much fabric. The whole piece is light, airy, and perfect for warmer weather!

Image-1.jpg

As for the shorts, I’ve never bought anything like them before! They are definitely a little longer than most shorts, but that seems to be a trend right now. I’m obsessed with the stripes and the muted blue tone. The best part though: these shorts have POCKETS! Yes, pockets! I didn’t even realize until after I bought them. Most shorts I’ve tried that are similar to these rarely ever have pockets, but they’re so helpful if you’re going to a fair, a concert, or a festival. I normally go to the OC Fair every summer, and these shorts will definitely be perfect for that occasion! I also love how there’s a cinched band along the waist, so they’re super stretchy and move with your body.

londontown_ootd4.JPG

londontown_ootd2.JPG

Lastly, as my choice of shoes, I slipped on one of my favorite pairs of sandals. They’re a tan color with two straps along the front and one around the back. I bought them at Tilly’s a while back, but they’re the perfect summer shoe. With this outfit, I think they look bomb and very laid back. They have a slight heel to them, making them a bit fancier than your average sandal. I love the white, blue, and tan colors together in one outfit. I’ve really been leaning towards these kinds of muted, toned down shades lately and I think they work well.

That’s about it for this OOTD! Let me know which piece was your favorite below in the comments. Also, what’s your favorite summer go to clothing item? I love hearing from you guys! Talk soon!

Hello Spring OOTD!

Hey everyone! Happy spring! The season is finally here and the cold winter months are behind us. Recently, I did a little photo shoot to take some senior pictures. I loved the outfit I wore for the photos, even though it was something out of my comfort zone. So this OOTD will focus on that outfit, and I’ll save the photos of me in a cap and gown for an actual graduation post! Also, a big thanks to Ryan Krantz, who was the photographer for this shoot. All of his information will be linked below. If you are in the Southern California area and need a photographer, I’d definitely recommend him!

Now on to the OOTD!

IMG_6365-2.jpg

While shopping for an outfit, I found myself at Topshop. I love looking around that store, but I rarely find anything whether it’s because something just doesn’t fit right or because of the prices. The day I found this romper was definitely one of my luckiest days! For whatever reason, rompers rarely ever fit me correctly. This one though, fit like a glove and is honestly so comfortable. The mesh material is quite flexible, yet very delicate. I was also shocked by the color! Usually the best colors that work with my skin tone are cooler shades like blue, purple, gray, or straight up black. The decorative aspects of this romper are a bright color, almost red hue. I normally stay away from red, but there’s just something about this piece that I love and it photographed beautifully.

IMG_6466.jpg

IMG_6682.jpg

The neckline of this romper is pretty low-cut and the sleeves are a perfect length. They are loose and give quite the feminine touch to this look. I also really enjoy the cut at the bottom, which helps bring in some nice movement when I’d walk. As you can probably tell from some of the photos, my hair was quite curly at the start of the shoot, but it got so windy and cold that all the curls fell out, lol! All of these photos were taken on my university’s campus, which is clearly right next to the water so a bit of wind was expected. It made for a lovely background and is completely my aesthetic. The white columns in some of the photos make up the Greek amphitheater at my school, which is exactly where the graduation ceremony will take place in about a month and a half!

IMG_6678.jpg

IMG_6667.jpg

As for accessories, I wore some small heeled shoes. They’re the perfect nude shade that matched well with the romper. They have very simple straps, which has been quite the popular trend lately. I thought they worked well considering the intricate coral patterns. My necklace is a small silver branch from Tiffany’s. This collection of jewelry was actually designed by Picasso’s daughter, which I find absolutely amazing and I kind of got overly excited when I found out.

That’s about it for this OOTD, hope you all enjoyed! It’s been a while since I’ve been able to post one. It was so fun doing this shoot, I think the photos turned out great considering Ryan has an amazing lens and the campus is just gorgeous. Let me know what you think down in the comments below!

P.S. Thank you guys so much for all the love on my Vlog! I didn’t expect so many people to comment on it and ask for another one. I’m planning on filming another since everyone has been requesting it. Okay, talk to you guys soon! xx

Valentine’s Day OOTD & Makeup Look!

valentinetitle.jpg

Hello, loves! Happy Valentine’s Day! In honor of this day of love, I thought I’d share an OOTD. Initially, this post was going to be strictly a makeup look, however I remembered I had the perfect outfit for the day! It’s been so long since I’ve written a post like this, and I forgot how much I enjoy sharing them with you all. Whether you are in a committed relationship or a single pringle like me, I hope you can find some happiness today and celebrate the love that is so abundant in this world. Enjoy the OOTD!

Pink, Purple, and Poised

Once I knew Valentine’s Day was coming up, I really wanted to do a pink inspired makeup look. It quickly turned to a more purple look, but I’m not really mad about it. I started out with the Naked 3 palette from Urban Decay, which is completely made up of pink shades. I personally love the looks you can get from this palette and I use it quite often in the spring time. I then went in with the two dark pink shades from the Anastasia Modern Renaissance palette. This really brought out the perfect pink/rosey shades to the outer half of my lid. Lastly, I used the Purple Palette from Kylie cosmetics, which I wrote a full review of (you can find that here), and I was definitely not impressed with it. However, the one shade I truly do love I used today on my lower lash line and a bit in my outer V. I finished everything off with some black Stila waterproof eyeliner and the Better Than Sex Mascara (what else would I use? lol)

For skin, I used my usual Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer and translucent powder to set everything in place. As for bronzer, blush, and highlighter, I went in with the Benefit Hoola bronzer, Nars blush in Orgasm, and a pinky toned highlighter from Kylie Cosmetics (let me know if you guys want a full review of her highlighters, I’m very torn on them too). As for lips, I went for a simple tinted chapstick from Burt’s Bees in Pomegranate.

For the Love of Yellow Hearts

This top I found at Topshop a while back. It’s a cropped blouse with a little tie in the front. I normally am not a fan of these types of tops, but the print completely won me over. The small black and white dots with the yellow hearts made for the perfect look today! The zipper running down the front gives a very edgy look, which of course I’m obsessed with. Sleeves are a big deal to me, and the one on this top definitely don’t disappoint! I love the length and combined with the flowy material, makes for a flattering ensemble.

I paired this top with my favorite jean skirt (which I thought was appropriate for the weather today, but it actually ended up raining!) I added these black heeled sandals and I think it went super well with the top. For accessories, I kept it simple with medium sized silver hoops. I love how casual yet put together this look is. You could definitely spice it up with some more serious heels if you’re going out at night or throw on some tennis shoes if you’re simply running errands.

Blogmas Day 3: Christmas Shopping Date OOTD

Hi beauties! For today’s Blogmas post, I thought I’d do an OOTD! For those of you in the UK or somewhere that actually experiences the seasons, this may not be the warmest option for you. But for us in Southern California where we don’t see snow or hail or much rain even, this is the perfect everyday winter look! Image.jpgHonestly one of the easiest and most put together outfits you could wear is jeans with a black boot and a fancy looking top. That’s exactly what I went for with this outfit, and it was also very comfortable actually! I found this blouse at the Topshop in Nordstrom during Black Friday. It was actually in the “Last Chance” section and it was the last one so I’m glad I got my hands on it.

christmasdate7.1.jpg

christmasdate6.jpg

christmasdate3.jpg

A couple things I adore about this top is the print and the way the back is designed. The extreme floral detail that is usually very feminine somehow compliments the darker navy tones and black in this blouse. I’m in love with the little pops of orange, which I usually wouldn’t be attracted to in any look (orange isn’t really my color, lol). The back has a small cutout that is brought together with a little black ribbon. How freaking cute is that I mean come on?! As you may know, the mix between girly and edgy is something I need in every outfit and this top hits that mark all on its own!

christmasdate5.jpg

christmasdate4.1.jpg

As for accessories, since the neckline dips so low, I wore a gray bralette that matched the middle tones of this top perfectly! I got this bralette from a store called Owl Fish for about $12, which these types of bralettes usually sell for $20 or more so it was definitely a steal! Also I just haven’t been taking off my Tiffany’s olive branch necklace, but it ended up looking really sophisticated with this blouse. For shoes, I should probably do an entire post on these things since I’ve been wearing them everyday, but they’re a pair of mules from Steve Madden. Usually I’m not a huge fan of these slip on kinds of shoes, partly because I don’t think they’re very flattering on me. But I was completely wrong when it came to these. The inside is completely made of (faux) fur and the tops are black leather. They sell the exact same pair at Nordstrom, but without the gold buckle and I think that feature added a lot to the shoe as a whole. I don’t buy Steve Madden very often because it’s a little pricey, but I think these babies were definitely worth taking the plunge!

christmasdate2.jpg

christmasdate9.jpg

christmasdate1.jpg

I decided to throw my hair up for a few of these photos. This top is very professional looking, and I think a nice updo would compliment it nicely. Peep the ugly green hair tie in my hair, lol! But I guess it’s also pretty Christmasy?? I love how this look can be very proper and lovely but also very casual. You could wear it to a short meeting (or at least the field I could go into, you could wear it to a meeting haha) or out on a Christmas shopping date! For me, walking through the mall during Christmas is so magical and beautiful. Such a fun time to shop for yourself and others! Alright that’s it for Blogmas Day 3, I really hope you guys enjoyed this little OOTD! Let me know your thoughts down in the comments below!

How To Make Your Summer Favorites Useful in the Winter!

Hey guys! Are some of your favorite clothes only appropriate for the warmer months? Is that top perfect for a special occasion except for the fact that you’d freeze in it?? Most of my wardrobe is made for the warmer weather, so once those couple of cold weeks hit here in California, I have to get creative. I have some styles for you that incorporate your favorite piece and are also practical for November and December! Check out these great layered looks for autumnal and winter fashion inspiration!

Comfy, Cozy, and Off to Class!

Image.jpg

summertowinter17.jpg

summertowinter15.jpg

Unfortunately in San Diego and Southern California as a whole, we don’t get a whole lot of the changing of the seasons. The days are usually sunny and don’t call for jackets, scarves, or cute hats. However, its usually a bit chilly during my morning class, so I will opt for jeans, boots, and some sort of cute top. This is a great outfit if you live somewhere similar! This adorable blouse from Irene’s Story is light and airy with a beautiful fall color and floral pattern. The lace at the front gives a nice feminine touch and makes the whole look a little more extravagant. The back is pretty open and has an adorable tie at the top. The cut is super flattering and a gray bralette worked perfectly with it. (I got the bralette for $12 at Owl Fish by the way!) Simple ripped jeans worked well with this top, since I was going for a casual, comfortable look.

summertowinter13.jpg

As for accessories, I wore these great black boots from Steve Madden. I have been wearing them everyday lately, I’m just so in love with them! Unlike most heels, they are actually very comfortable! I also wore my favorite Tiffany’s necklace to keep the look simple. I always keep it pretty plain when it comes to jewelry since I’m not the biggest fan of statement necklaces at the moment.

summertowinter20.jpg

A Girlboss in Every Season!

Image-1.jpg

summertowinter2.jpg

There are a couple weeks in the year when we actually get rain, fog, and wind! These days call for the perfect jacket or sweater. I found this one yesterday at Irene’s Story and I absolutely love how it looks like part of a man’s suit. It’s a masculine cut but also very beautiful when thrown over this top with the lace. It’s very long and extremely cozy! Better yet, it has pockets on each side, allowing for easy access to your phone, a small wallet, or earbuds. I don’t really know what you guys keep in your pockets on the regular, but the pockets on this jacket are just great and that’s all you need to know, LOL!

summertowinter8.jpg

This will be my face in my future career, about to walk into a meeting, knowing I’m about to slay the game.

The Next Gossip Girl

summertowinter3.jpg

summertowinter6.jpg

For some reason, once I threw on this scarf, I felt VERY New York, specifically Gossip Girl which I’ve been binging for the second time! Although I think whenever you throw on a nice jacket and big scarf, it always screams NYC and that sort of hustle bustle life. New York is somewhere that is high up on my bucket list, so hopefully I can wear an outfit like this some day in that bright city. I bought this enormous scarf at Zara a couple years ago before my first trip to Boston, and somehow it got buried in my closet at home and I’ve just rediscovered it! It’s almost the size of a blanket, so I like to take each opposite corner and fold it over. It’s long, warm, and totally preppy with the print! It’s crazy how one item can completely transform a look!

summertowinter5.jpg

summertowinter4.jpg

I hope you all enjoyed this outfit transformation! It’s amazing how you can take a lightweight blouse like this one, add a jacket and/or scarf, and it’s magically perfect for a new season! Fashion is mind blowing, people! I really loved mixing and matching these items that usually don’t go together. Let me know what you think of it or if you have any fashion advice for the winter that you’d like to share! Talk to you soon! xx

Makeup I’m wearing: Kylie Cosmetic liquid matte lipstick in “Gorg,” a mix of Urban Decay eyeshadows, Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, Fenty Beauty Foundation, Anastasia Brow Wiz in Taupe, Laura Mercier Bronzer, and Nars Orgasm Blush.

Keep up with me!

November Style: Oversized Sweaters & Denim Skirts

novemberstyle2-03.jpg

Hey everyone! I don’t think I said this in my previous post but HAPPY NOVEMBER!! It’s basically Christmas…LOL kidding we’re not quite there yet. Lately I have just been obsessed with denim! This was pretty obvious when I posted my 5 Ways to Style a Black Overall Dress for the Fall post. Check that out to see my favorite denim dress from Topshop and how to wear it! I usually have a hard time with fitted or denim skirts, but I found the perfect one from Forever 21 of all places! It’s normally hard for me to find something I truly love from Forever 21, even though it was my go to store when I was younger; my taste has evolved a lot since then. So I’ve put together a couple looks with the denim skirt that are perfect for the fall weather we get here in San Diego. The weather has been pretty bipolar so the options I have here are perfect for the fluctuating temperatures.

Pretty in PinkImage-1.jpg

Okay I have seriously been obsessing over this sweater lately! I’m so glad it’s been a little chilly so I can wear it whenever I want! This gorgeous pink color has a salmon tone to it, which I think makes it perfect for the fall. It brightens up any look and the fabric is just to die for. It’s so freaking soft and one of the thicker sweaters I own. They ended up not having my size so I actually got a Large and I’m so glad I did!! Sometimes I will intentionally buy sweaters like this super big so I can wrap myself up in them. Personally I think these types of pieces should be worn in an extra cozy way, who agrees?? They had a variety of different colors in this sweater, so I’ll leave a link here if you want to get your hands on one. I bought this from the BP section at Nordstrom’s!

falloutfit16.jpg

I personally think the best way to style this with a denim skirt is to tuck it in the front. Since it’s so oversized it can easily cover up the details of the denim. I wear this skirt pretty high waisted, which is essential to this look. It has buttons instead of a zipper going all the way up and they’re covered by a small piece of fabric.

falloutfit12.jpg

It seems the more I wear this skirt and wash it, the more distressed it becomes, which I absolutely love! The more worn, the more 90’s it looks and who doesn’t love that?? I wore some simple black boots with this outfit. They have beautiful gold detailing at the heels. I believe I bought this from Boohoo.com some time ago. These babies are a little stiff still but are getting more comfy as I break them in.

falloutfit17.jpg

falloutfit14.jpg

Bundle Up Buttercup! Image.jpg

This has absolutely been one of my favorite outfits lately! It was so easy to put together and SO effortless to wear! This is a great look for going to class if you’re a college student. It’s comfortable while still looking completely put together!

falloutfit6.jpg

I absolutely adore the color of this cardigan! It’s one of my favorites for the fall or winter. I’ve also never had a cardigan that has short sleeves! It’s such a great cut and my hands are totally free if I have to do any sketching or designing. I usually like my cardigans or sweaters to be able to cover my hands but this is a nice change. I bought this at Melrose in the O.C.

falloutfit5.jpg

I decided to pair this outfit with one of my favorite little backpacks. The color goes with everything and is great for little outings. I love how it looks against the burgundy cardigan! I bought this backpack about a year and a half ago in Boston at their Primark. It’s my go to beach backpack! And of course, for shoes I threw on my classic checkered Vans. I feel like I wear these things for every outfit, but they are just so perfect for any occasion! Maybe not for a wedding or something like that, but you know what I mean! I really wanted to keep this look super casual, so my Vans seemed to be the perfect fit! They’re insanely comfy so if you haven’t tried them on for yourself, here is a link if you’d like to order a pair.

falloutfit8.jpg

falloutfit9.jpg

I’ve been wearing this mustard colored T-shirt so often lately! Although it is a simple short sleeve tee, the sleeves almost reach my forearm. It’s a V neck and again I decided to tuck it into the denim skirt so it could be more visible. I bought this shirt from BP at Nordstrom’s (for a great price!) and it also comes in so many different colors. Here is the page where you can find all the various options if you’d like one for yourself or as a Christmas present (it’s never to early to start buying!)

falloutfit4.jpg

falloutfit7.jpg

P.S. I’m wearing a Kylie liquid matte lipstick in the shade “Gorg.” I have a full post about it here if you haven’t checked it out yet!

That’s all I have for you guys for this post! Let me know what you think of these looks or if you have any questions about the products! Hope you’re all stay warm and cozy in this chilly weather. To be honest, I’ve been drinking a lot of peppermint tea and I’m already using a Christmas mug. Oops! Until next time! xx
