Blogmas Day 3: Christmas Shopping Date OOTD

Hi beauties! For today’s Blogmas post, I thought I’d do an OOTD! For those of you in the UK or somewhere that actually experiences the seasons, this may not be the warmest option for you. But for us in Southern California where we don’t see snow or hail or much rain even, this is the perfect everyday winter look! Image.jpgHonestly one of the easiest and most put together outfits you could wear is jeans with a black boot and a fancy looking top. That’s exactly what I went for with this outfit, and it was also very comfortable actually! I found this blouse at the Topshop in Nordstrom during Black Friday. It was actually in the “Last Chance” section and it was the last one so I’m glad I got my hands on it.

christmasdate3.jpg

A couple things I adore about this top is the print and the way the back is designed. The extreme floral detail that is usually very feminine somehow compliments the darker navy tones and black in this blouse. I’m in love with the little pops of orange, which I usually wouldn’t be attracted to in any look (orange isn’t really my color, lol). The back has a small cutout that is brought together with a little black ribbon. How freaking cute is that I mean come on?! As you may know, the mix between girly and edgy is something I need in every outfit and this top hits that mark all on its own!

christmasdate5.jpg

christmasdate4.1.jpg

As for accessories, since the neckline dips so low, I wore a gray bralette that matched the middle tones of this top perfectly! I got this bralette from a store called Owl Fish for about $12, which these types of bralettes usually sell for $20 or more so it was definitely a steal! Also I just haven’t been taking off my Tiffany’s olive branch necklace, but it ended up looking really sophisticated with this blouse. For shoes, I should probably do an entire post on these things since I’ve been wearing them everyday, but they’re a pair of mules from Steve Madden. Usually I’m not a huge fan of these slip on kinds of shoes, partly because I don’t think they’re very flattering on me. But I was completely wrong when it came to these. The inside is completely made of (faux) fur and the tops are black leather. They sell the exact same pair at Nordstrom, but without the gold buckle and I think that feature added a lot to the shoe as a whole. I don’t buy Steve Madden very often because it’s a little pricey, but I think these babies were definitely worth taking the plunge!

christmasdate2.jpg

christmasdate9.jpg

christmasdate1.jpg

I decided to throw my hair up for a few of these photos. This top is very professional looking, and I think a nice updo would compliment it nicely. Peep the ugly green hair tie in my hair, lol! But I guess it’s also pretty Christmasy?? I love how this look can be very proper and lovely but also very casual. You could wear it to a short meeting (or at least the field I could go into, you could wear it to a meeting haha) or out on a Christmas shopping date! For me, walking through the mall during Christmas is so magical and beautiful. Such a fun time to shop for yourself and others! Alright that’s it for Blogmas Day 3, I really hope you guys enjoyed this little OOTD! Let me know your thoughts down in the comments below!

How To Make Your Summer Favorites Useful in the Winter!

Hey guys! Are some of your favorite clothes only appropriate for the warmer months? Is that top perfect for a special occasion except for the fact that you’d freeze in it?? Most of my wardrobe is made for the warmer weather, so once those couple of cold weeks hit here in California, I have to get creative. I have some styles for you that incorporate your favorite piece and are also practical for November and December! Check out these great layered looks for autumnal and winter fashion inspiration!

Comfy, Cozy, and Off to Class!

Image.jpg

summertowinter17.jpg

summertowinter15.jpg

Unfortunately in San Diego and Southern California as a whole, we don’t get a whole lot of the changing of the seasons. The days are usually sunny and don’t call for jackets, scarves, or cute hats. However, its usually a bit chilly during my morning class, so I will opt for jeans, boots, and some sort of cute top. This is a great outfit if you live somewhere similar! This adorable blouse from Irene’s Story is light and airy with a beautiful fall color and floral pattern. The lace at the front gives a nice feminine touch and makes the whole look a little more extravagant. The back is pretty open and has an adorable tie at the top. The cut is super flattering and a gray bralette worked perfectly with it. (I got the bralette for $12 at Owl Fish by the way!) Simple ripped jeans worked well with this top, since I was going for a casual, comfortable look.

summertowinter13.jpg

As for accessories, I wore these great black boots from Steve Madden. I have been wearing them everyday lately, I’m just so in love with them! Unlike most heels, they are actually very comfortable! I also wore my favorite Tiffany’s necklace to keep the look simple. I always keep it pretty plain when it comes to jewelry since I’m not the biggest fan of statement necklaces at the moment.

A Girlboss in Every Season!

Image-1.jpg

summertowinter2.jpg

There are a couple weeks in the year when we actually get rain, fog, and wind! These days call for the perfect jacket or sweater. I found this one yesterday at Irene’s Story and I absolutely love how it looks like part of a man’s suit. It’s a masculine cut but also very beautiful when thrown over this top with the lace. It’s very long and extremely cozy! Better yet, it has pockets on each side, allowing for easy access to your phone, a small wallet, or earbuds. I don’t really know what you guys keep in your pockets on the regular, but the pockets on this jacket are just great and that’s all you need to know, LOL!

This will be my face in my future career, about to walk into a meeting, knowing I’m about to slay the game.

The Next Gossip Girl

summertowinter3.jpg

summertowinter6.jpg

For some reason, once I threw on this scarf, I felt VERY New York, specifically Gossip Girl which I’ve been binging for the second time! Although I think whenever you throw on a nice jacket and big scarf, it always screams NYC and that sort of hustle bustle life. New York is somewhere that is high up on my bucket list, so hopefully I can wear an outfit like this some day in that bright city. I bought this enormous scarf at Zara a couple years ago before my first trip to Boston, and somehow it got buried in my closet at home and I’ve just rediscovered it! It’s almost the size of a blanket, so I like to take each opposite corner and fold it over. It’s long, warm, and totally preppy with the print! It’s crazy how one item can completely transform a look!

summertowinter5.jpg

summertowinter4.jpg

I hope you all enjoyed this outfit transformation! It’s amazing how you can take a lightweight blouse like this one, add a jacket and/or scarf, and it’s magically perfect for a new season! Fashion is mind blowing, people! I really loved mixing and matching these items that usually don’t go together. Let me know what you think of it or if you have any fashion advice for the winter that you’d like to share! Talk to you soon! xx

Makeup I’m wearing: Kylie Cosmetic liquid matte lipstick in “Gorg,” a mix of Urban Decay eyeshadows, Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, Fenty Beauty Foundation, Anastasia Brow Wiz in Taupe, Laura Mercier Bronzer, and Nars Orgasm Blush.

Keep up with me!

November Style: Oversized Sweaters & Denim Skirts

novemberstyle2-03.jpg

Hey everyone! I don’t think I said this in my previous post but HAPPY NOVEMBER!! It’s basically Christmas…LOL kidding we’re not quite there yet. Lately I have just been obsessed with denim! This was pretty obvious when I posted my 5 Ways to Style a Black Overall Dress for the Fall post. Check that out to see my favorite denim dress from Topshop and how to wear it! I usually have a hard time with fitted or denim skirts, but I found the perfect one from Forever 21 of all places! It’s normally hard for me to find something I truly love from Forever 21, even though it was my go to store when I was younger; my taste has evolved a lot since then. So I’ve put together a couple looks with the denim skirt that are perfect for the fall weather we get here in San Diego. The weather has been pretty bipolar so the options I have here are perfect for the fluctuating temperatures.

Pretty in PinkImage-1.jpg

Okay I have seriously been obsessing over this sweater lately! I’m so glad it’s been a little chilly so I can wear it whenever I want! This gorgeous pink color has a salmon tone to it, which I think makes it perfect for the fall. It brightens up any look and the fabric is just to die for. It’s so freaking soft and one of the thicker sweaters I own. They ended up not having my size so I actually got a Large and I’m so glad I did!! Sometimes I will intentionally buy sweaters like this super big so I can wrap myself up in them. Personally I think these types of pieces should be worn in an extra cozy way, who agrees?? They had a variety of different colors in this sweater, so I’ll leave a link here if you want to get your hands on one. I bought this from the BP section at Nordstrom’s!

falloutfit16.jpg

I personally think the best way to style this with a denim skirt is to tuck it in the front. Since it’s so oversized it can easily cover up the details of the denim. I wear this skirt pretty high waisted, which is essential to this look. It has buttons instead of a zipper going all the way up and they’re covered by a small piece of fabric.

falloutfit12.jpg

It seems the more I wear this skirt and wash it, the more distressed it becomes, which I absolutely love! The more worn, the more 90’s it looks and who doesn’t love that?? I wore some simple black boots with this outfit. They have beautiful gold detailing at the heels. I believe I bought this from Boohoo.com some time ago. These babies are a little stiff still but are getting more comfy as I break them in.

falloutfit17.jpg

falloutfit14.jpg

Bundle Up Buttercup! Image.jpg

This has absolutely been one of my favorite outfits lately! It was so easy to put together and SO effortless to wear! This is a great look for going to class if you’re a college student. It’s comfortable while still looking completely put together!

falloutfit6.jpg

I absolutely adore the color of this cardigan! It’s one of my favorites for the fall or winter. I’ve also never had a cardigan that has short sleeves! It’s such a great cut and my hands are totally free if I have to do any sketching or designing. I usually like my cardigans or sweaters to be able to cover my hands but this is a nice change. I bought this at Melrose in the O.C.

falloutfit5.jpg

I decided to pair this outfit with one of my favorite little backpacks. The color goes with everything and is great for little outings. I love how it looks against the burgundy cardigan! I bought this backpack about a year and a half ago in Boston at their Primark. It’s my go to beach backpack! And of course, for shoes I threw on my classic checkered Vans. I feel like I wear these things for every outfit, but they are just so perfect for any occasion! Maybe not for a wedding or something like that, but you know what I mean! I really wanted to keep this look super casual, so my Vans seemed to be the perfect fit! They’re insanely comfy so if you haven’t tried them on for yourself, here is a link if you’d like to order a pair.

falloutfit8.jpg

falloutfit9.jpg

I’ve been wearing this mustard colored T-shirt so often lately! Although it is a simple short sleeve tee, the sleeves almost reach my forearm. It’s a V neck and again I decided to tuck it into the denim skirt so it could be more visible. I bought this shirt from BP at Nordstrom’s (for a great price!) and it also comes in so many different colors. Here is the page where you can find all the various options if you’d like one for yourself or as a Christmas present (it’s never to early to start buying!)

falloutfit4.jpg

falloutfit7.jpg

P.S. I’m wearing a Kylie liquid matte lipstick in the shade “Gorg.” I have a full post about it here if you haven’t checked it out yet!

That’s all I have for you guys for this post! Let me know what you think of these looks or if you have any questions about the products! Hope you’re all stay warm and cozy in this chilly weather. To be honest, I’ve been drinking a lot of peppermint tea and I’m already using a Christmas mug. Oops! Until next time! xx

Cozy Fall Morning OOTD!

Hello everyone! Got another OOTD for ya, of course specifically for the autumn season! I recently went shopping for some new pieces and I think I found some great things! I went to one of my favorite coffee shops in San Diego this morning to get some homework done and this was absolutely the perfect outfit for that. Comfortable yet totally put together. This is a new look I want to try out more often, since it’s so freaking comfy and easy for anyone to wear! So here are some photos, let me know if you have any questions about it down below in the comments!

fallootd2.jpg

Image.jpg

These pants are just so amazing. They are a gray/taupe color with white stripes. For me, they come to about mid calf and sometimes longer depending on whether I roll the waist or not. They are not tight at all, which I really love because it gives such an effortless look. I love this simple striped print with the muted tones as well. It makes them very versatile and easy to create so many different looks. I paired them with a simple white cropped tee. Sometimes I will tuck it in and other times not. A simple colored top is one of the best ways to go with these types of pants.

fallootd1.jpg

Image-1.jpg

fallootd11.jpg

The burgundy cardigan is a new purchase of mine as well. It is very long, which is one reason I fell in love with it so quickly. I think cardigans should look extra big and comfy! It is very unique though considering the sleeves are rolled and out of your way (perfect for doing boring math homework, lol!) Also, as for hair, I straightened it today and threw it up in this messy yet cute high ponytail. Very Ariana Grande, but a great look to spend a couple minute on if you’re running late in the mornings.

fallootd3.jpg

fallootd8.jpg

For accessories, I wore my silver necklace that looks like a little branch from Tiffany’s. It’s one of my favorites since it’s so simple and goes with anything you could possibly wear. I didn’t take it off in Europe! Next, for earrings, I wore these beautiful blush pink tassels with a gold diamond shape. I feel like they’re on the fancy side but still very easy to pull off. The pink compliments the burgundy pretty nicely too, which I wasn’t expecting. I also wore extremely basic silver hoops in my second piercings.

fallootd9.jpg

fallootd10.jpg

I can’t tell you how often I wear these little white sandals. They go with the pants and the t-shirt perfectly. It adds to that comfortable vibe, especially with the straw like string that rims the edge of them. To add just a touch of edge to this look, I wore this adorable black bag that has a very long strap. I love the little sewn in details on this bag. It’s very minimalistic and quite versatile. I usually only buy black bags since they are foolproof for any look. I should probably branch out, but I couldn’t resist this one!

That’s about it for this little OOTD. I hope it inspired you to try out a look like this. It really was perfect for just hanging out and being totally comfortable. What more could you want in an outfit?? Here’s to hoping the fall weather comes soon so we can break out the giant knit sweaters for more comfy OOTD’s! Hope you all are having a great Tuesday, until next time! xx

5 Ways to Style a Black Overall Dress for the Fall!

collageoveralls-01.png

I am officially writing my first blog post inspired by the fall season, YAY! I am so so excited to bring you these posts and hope it gives you some good ideas for this autumn time whether it be beauty, fashion, or lifestyle related! So to kick things off, I’m creating an OOTD-like post. Recently, I bought these black denim overalls from Topshop and they’re all I want to wear. They had a huge selection of overalls from corduroy to denim in many colors. Not only are these overalls so 90’s, but they’re in dress form!! Perfect for a trip to Julian to have some of Mom’s pies or taking photos in a little pumpkin patch this season. So without me rambling on, here are 5 unique ways to style a black denim overall dress. Get ready for silly faces and some unforgettable denim outfits!

A Date with Jack Skellington

Alright so this first looks is super simple, making it very easy to wear! The classic striped shirt underneath overalls is very popular right now, so I thought it’d give it a go. This is one of my most basic striped shirts that goes with just about anything. I love how easy it looks under the overalls and how it matches the black denim. For accessories, I threw on my sun medallion choker, which I usually wear year round but I love the witchy vibe it gives during the fall. I also wore my black heeled sandal shoes. They are a little hard to describe but they are so casual but also very feminine with the slight heel (I have a full post about them and more here!) Such an easy look for absolutely anybody to wear and if you’re not a fan of the heels, black or white tennis shoes would be just as adorable!

Striped shirt: Zara

Necklace: Etsy

Shoes: Melrose in the O.C.

Through the Corn Maze with Bae

This next look is actually one of my favorites. I just recently picked up this green plaid jacket and I think it’s absolutely lovely for the new season. It’s cozy and there’s a bonus, it has a little hood! I love the look of this without the jacket as well, with the simple white tee and the black overalls. It’s so clean and very up to date, especially when including the black velvet choker. The Vans high tops give a very skater vibe, which I love and reminds me of home. One of the reasons I’m obsessed with these overalls is the giant pocket right on the front. It’s so unexpected and is quite a big statement. I would seriously love to wear this running through a corn maze in October on a date. A girl can dream right?

Plaid Jacket: Garage

Necklace: Garage (probably?)

Pumpkin Patch Babe

Okay, I take it back. THIS is one of my favorites as well. It’s just so different from things I usually wear. I am absolutely obsessed with sweaters under overalls. It’s so unexpected but it somehow works! I’ve had this sweater for so long, and finally found the perfect use for it. It’s a bit cropped, but I like it in this look more than I like it on its own. I again wore my Vans high tops to give it a very casual, easy look while still being put together. I didn’t accessorize at all because I love how this outfit looks all on its own. It has some very Midwest vibes, while still being very California surf and skate with the shoes. I imagine wearing this on a chilly day and visiting a pumpkin patch with my friend or family. It’s the classic October outing matched with the ideal look! What more could you want??

Sweater: Melrose in the O.C. (?)

Shoes: Vans High Tops

Let’s Go Ghost Hunting

Image-4.jpg11.jpg

This long sleeve green top is very unique within itself. I’ve never layered it with anything before but I seriously LOVE how it looks under this black denim. It makes the look of these overalls even edgier! The choker and cross sections in the front and even the back all come attached on the shirt. It’s a cool little detail in the back with the crossing of the shirt and the straps of the overalls. Since the top comes with a built in choker, there was no need to add any necklaces. However, I did wear these light brown heeled boots to change it up a bit. I love how they have a cutout at the sides, it goes perfectly with the whole vibe! Anyone wanna catch some ghosts with me in this look?

Green Top: Owl Fish

Netflix, Tea and Candlelight

This is absolutely the perfect outfit for having a night in with your friends (or even for a little date night in, lol). It is such a comfy and cozy look with the pale pink cardigan. It is so freaking soft, I can’t even explain it to you. It is definitely the most feminine look out of the five, but of course still edgy with my addition of the black velvet chocker and the checkered Vans. I wear these specific Vans almost everyday, they’re definitely a staple of mine and so 80’s! Lounge around, grab some peppermint tea, a soft blanket, and throw on some Netflix! (Preferably Friends, or maybe even a scary movie? By the way, I’m waiting for the day “It” comes on Netflix, that movie was AMAZING!)

T-Shirt: Nordstrom

Cardigan: Melrose in the O.C.

Choker: Garage

Shoes: Classic Checkered Vans

So those are my five unique looks to create with a black denim overall dress! Again, I purchased it at Topshop, so look in stores or maybe online if you’d like to get it yourself. It’s one of my go to looks right now and fits this autumnal season to a T! Also, I apologize for the boring background, we haven’t quite gotten to wall decor yet in the apartment. Let me know which one was your favorite and why down below in the comments! Hope you all had a lovely and productive Monday! xx

Beach Grunge OOTD!

grungetitle.jpg

Hello loves! Hope you all are doing well this fine day. Time for another OOTD, yay! I missed putting together outfits for your guys so much. I think my last OOTD was posted before I left for London. Wow, that was so long ago but nonetheless I think you all will enjoy this one! This outfit is great for the upcoming school year since it’s very casual but also has “fancier” elements. You could always make small changes and variations to this style so it can be worn on a night out as well. So without further ado, let’s jump into this 90’s inspired beach grunge OOTD!

grunge9.jpg

grunge12.jpg

IMG_5783.PNG

As you guys may or may not know, I absolutely love an all black outfit. Black clothing in general seems to work very well for me and I love wearing it, especially in the fall! I bought these distressed black jeans months ago and I can’t stop wearing them. Even though it’s the summertime, I take the chance to wear them whenever I can. They match with absolutely any time and look fabulous with any shoe. I’d love to get a pair of these in white as well since they fit so great. I bought these jeans at Melrose in the O.C. and they are from the brand Just Black.

grunge4.jpg

IMG_5786.PNG

grunge1.jpg

I threw on a simple black t-shirt to go with the black pants. In order to make the denim stand out, an all black look seemed the best way to go. I got this t-shirt a while back at Nordstrom and I love the scoop neck style of it! This denim jacket has been another staple of mine for the summer. It served me well in Europe on the chillier days while still being light and airy with the sporadic distressed rips. The giant pockets at the front and with the sleeves unrolled, it gives a very 90’s look, which I’m always a fan of. Rolling up the sleeves is perfect as well if I want an even edgier look. I got this slightly oversized denim jacket at a store called Owl Fish, which is a very affordable shop with a great selection!

grunge5.jpg

grunge6.jpg

grunge7.jpg

grunge8.jpg

To continue with the 90’s grunge, I decided to throw on a plain black velvet choker (I bought it at a random store in the mall, but you can find these types of chokers anywhere). I’ve been loving the choker trend lately and all the different styles they come in. They look just amazing on everybody and a great way to punk up a look. Another great trend that’s been happening lately is the dad hat or baseball hat style. It’s been super hard for me to find just the right one, but luckily the Vans US Open of Surfing had my back! I’ve attended the US Open for the past few years now and I always make sure to stop in the Vans shop. They sell tons of Vans march including shoes, apparel, accessories, and more. This year I found a gorgeous little pink hat and I love the pop of color it gives to this outfit. It radiates a feminine and playful vibe without taking away from the edginess. That’s my perfect outfit combo: cute, beachy, and dangerous!

grunge16.jpg

grunge17.jpg

Lastly, to tie up the look I threw on these nude strappy sandals. They have a very slight heel and I love how they can be kept casual in a look like this but also played up with a dress or a romper. While being super easy to walk in, they definitely need some breaking in to get past that blister phase. You all know what I’m talking about when you’re dealing with new shoes, lol. I bought these at a shoe store called Reflection. This lovely nude color combined with the pink, black, and denim texture is something I’m obsessed with lately. It’s so easy to put together and they compliment each other extremely well. On my hands I have a few dainty rings and a marble ring for a little extra something. Combining a modern look with styles from the 90’s is definitely something I’m into right now, and I hope you guys love it too! Let me know what you think of this OOTD, I love chatting with you guys! xx

London Calling OOTD

Hi loves! Exciting OOTD today! My trip is getting closer and closer and I can’t get London specifically out of my head. I am getting more and more nerves everyday on top of a ton of excitement. Today is the day I start to pack, so I thought I’d make an OOTD out of an item I’m bringing along before it gets packed away. So let’s get right to it!

whitedress2.jpg

whitedress8.jpg

I swear I use this blush bralette for just about any look! It’s just so lovely and adds a cute detail where you least expect it. The dress is so simple that incorporating a little pop of color is so fun and easy to do! (Necklace from Tiffany’s).

whitedress6.jpg

Since I am only bringing a couple dresses to Europe, I was very picky with what I was looking for. I needed something flowy, comfortable, and not too short. Not only that, I needed a dress that could be mixed and matched with shoes and the one sweater I’m packing. Even though I had all these specific requirements, I still wanted something that would be beautiful in photos. After a lot of searching, I think this dress is going to work out perfectly!

whitedress3.jpg

The back of this dress is perfect for the hot weather in Italy and the other places I’m visiting. With a few straps criss crossing each other, it allows for a pretty open back and gives the dress a lightness. Not only that, but the cream color is perfect for the summer and adds to the flowy and effortless vibe of this piece.

Image-2.jpg

One of my absolute favorite details of this dress is the very bottom. The little patterning stitched beautifully is the detailing this simple dress needed. I think if the designer would have repeated this partner anywhere else it would have taken away from the specialness of it. I also think it adds a bohemian look that I’m obsessed with in any clothing. I bought this dress from Melrose in the O.C.

whitedress7.jpg

To accompany this little silver necklace, I threw in a gold accented crystal rock necklace. It’s quite long so I think it contrasts the shorter one nicely. The earthy tones in it are the perfect match to this cream dress. This whole outfit’s color palette from cream to pink to gold is exactly what’s needed for the warm summer weather!

That’s it for this OOTD, I hope you enjoyed or learned something! Let me know what you think of this dress in the comments below or have any travel tips before I head off to London! xx
