Late Night Thunder & Lightning OOTD!

Hey everyone, happy Sunday! Hope your weekends are going well. Mine has been absolutely mental with a big work event yesterday, a trip up to LA tonight, and down to San Diego tomorrow. However, I can’t forget my love for blogging! That being said, I have another OOTD for you guys today! I’ve been loving fall fashion, especially now that the air is getting cooler. We actually had a crazy thunder and lightning storm the other night so it’s been awesome to bundle up and layer some of my favorite pieces! Driving through the rain watching the sky light up and hearing the thunder was something I’ve never experienced and it was absolutely incredible!

We all know pale yellow was an extremely popular color this summer. Well I can’t get enough of it, so I’m bringing it into fall! This yellow tone is a little brighter than what we saw in the summer, which makes it a little better for autumn. It actually has a bit of a lose turtle neck cut and poofy sleeves. It’s isn’t constricting at all, just nice and cozy how I like all my autumn sweaters! The material isn’t extremely thick, making it perfect for California weather, but maybe not so good if you live in a snowy place. However, I did layer it underneath my favorite denim jacket from Topshop and I love how it looks!

Some of my favorite pieces from this outfit though are the shoes and the hat! I normally don’t shop for shoes too often and especially not hats, so I really went out of my comfort zone with this look. These slides have been my favorites lately, especially because of the leopard pattern. This print has been so in style lately and I’m pretty into it! You can find these shoes at Matisse in a couple different shades if you’d like to check them out! As for the hat, I’ve been wanting one like this for quite a while. The braids wrapped around it give an excellent indie vibe. I think the gray is also perfect for the season and a great addition to any fit.

As for jeans, I wore one of my favorite pairs: a dark gray wash with tons of distressed rips. They are also frayed at the ankles giving a casual yet put together look. You can find a very similar pair in my Casual OOTD look! When it comes to earrings I’ve really been going out of the box. I’ve been loving the tassel trend and been very into big earrings. I recently found these black and gold tassel pieces and have been wearing them almost everyday. They really spice up even the most casual looks!

IMG_0988_Facetune_07-10-2018-15-31-07.jpeg

I hope you guys enjoyed this OOTD! It’s probably one of my favorite looks I’ve ever posted! I’m honestly surprised I’m wearing other colors other than black, LOL. Never thought I would enjoy yellow so much! Let me know what your favorite part of this look is down in the comments. Also, be sure to follow my Instagram, as I post even more OOTD’s on there and usually tag where I got the pieces from!

An Autumn Weekend OOTD!

Hey everyone! Guess what?? IT FINALLY RAINED IN SOCAL! I was driving to work the other day (it usually takes me about an hour to get there) and it started pouring rain. I kid you not, it was POURING. I know to most people this is a fairly normal occurrence but to me it was straight up magic. I absolutely love rainy days but they rarely happen here. It was one of the only times I was glad I have a long commute because I could just enjoy the sound of the rain. This weekend has also been slightly chilly. There’s been no rain but I can feel the air is getting cooler. I thought I would bring out another fall OOTD, one that is still quite casual and something I would wear on a weekend during autumn. Continue reading for photos and outfit details!

As the weather is definitely getting chillier, the sun still pops out once in a while and will literally bake your face if you stand outside for too long. To compensate for the occasional heat, I prefer to mix my summer pieces with fall favorites. I’m a sucker for a giant cozy sweater in the fall (as most people are, LOL) but putting a little California spin on it is my fave. I bought this jean skirt last fall actually and it’s been one of my staples ever since then. It goes with absolutely everything and I love channeling my inner 90’s kid (shoutout to all my 1996 babies). Image.jpgSo with my favorite jean skirt I threw on an oversize auburn sweater. I’m always super into this color when fall begins and it goes well with most outfits (you’d be surprised). My coloring doesn’t do well with anything full on red, so I opt for burgundy, wine, or auburn tones like this sweater. This specific style is tight at the arms and is oversized everywhere else. In order to give my body a little more shape, I tucked in the front of the sweater since the skirt tends to make me look a little square in shape. I’ve been doing this with most of my outfits lately. It’s funny because as a kid I wore uniforms at school everyday and they were very strict about tucking in your shirt. I hated the rule and felt like such a rebel having my shirt untucked. Oh how times have changed!

Since purchasing this skirt, it’s also gotten a little big on me so I usually have to wear a belt. I love this black one because of course it goes with any outfit and this specific design has been super in style recently. I love the silver detailing and how it looks with a shirt or sweater tucked in. I’m learning more and more that with fashion it’s all in the little details, even if that means tucking in your shirt to show a cute belt. So simple but transforms a look!

Facetune-3.jpg

IMG_0898.jpeg

Facetune-4.jpg

As for other accessories, I wore a dainty gold necklace that says “Wish” (even though you can’t see it in the photos) and a long rock necklace. I’ve really been trying to accessorize more, even if it’s with one long necklace. I’m finding it makes an outfit more special, even though I’m one to go for simpler pieces. The earth tones in the rock (or is it a crystal?) pair so well with the auburn sweater and I love it for this season! This necklace is also painted with gold on one side! Next, since this is a casual weekend look, I threw on my classic black vans. As you all know, I love a girly look with something more edgy or even masculine. I like to achieve this vibe with my shoes most times, and you can bet you’ll always be comfortable in Vans!

That’s about it for this OOTD. We oftentimes forget that being comfortable can also be made very cute. Adding small details or changing the way you wear certain pieces can really help transform any look. So get creative with fashion and have fun with it! It’s such an amazing way to express yourself and if you love something, WEAR IT! Let me know what you guys think of this look down in the comments! xx

A Casual Day with Me! (OOTD)

Hello everyone, happy first day of October! I posted a photo on Instagram the other day of a very casual OOTD, what my childhood was like growing up, and how that has affected my fashion sense now as a 22 year old. It was a very brief post, but I wanted to dive into that a little more in a blog post! Being surrounded by a beachy environment as a kid and growing up with lots of surfers and skaters, my fashion sense was definitely influenced. My style has always been a good mix between feminine and edgy but when I was young, I was a MAJOR tomboy. Keep reading for full outfit details!

casualootd.JPG

I love my fancy outfits, done up hair and detailed makeup as much as the next fashion lover, but you won’t find me wearing that on the regular. My usual look is a t-shirt usually tucked into some ripped jeans and some tennis shoes. I really love accessorizing with simple looks like these, so I’ll throw on a long necklace or even a dainty one if I’m feeling extra minimalistic. Sometimes it’s the smallest details that can throw an outfit together!

casualootd3.JPG

The main focus of this OOTD is my new Vans. I’ve had countless pairs of Vans throughout the years. From black high tops to checkered slip ons, to their classic black pair like these. I partly wore a lot of vans because they matched with my school uniform when I was younger. Going to private Christian schools my entire childhood, the dress code was always very strict but Vans were always a good way to style your uniform and try to be a little different in a sea of identical clothing. I always find it funny that I’m so into fashion considering I didn’t have many options except plaid skirts and collared shirts for the majority of my life.

IMG_0786_Facetune_29-09-2018-15-48-53.jpeg

I purchased this simple and flowy white tee from Nordstrom a couple months ago and I’ve been living with it. Simple shirts like these are great for layering under spaghetti strap tops or even dresses. I love that that specific trend has come full circle and is popular again! These ripped jeans are seriously some of the comfiest I’ve ever owned and I love the rugged bottoms and where they fall on my legs. I prefer jeans with holes any day over regular denim. I got the jeans and the long rock necklace at a little shop called Melrose in the O.C. (which is where I buy the majority of my clothes nowadays, LOL). Of course, I purchased my classic black Vans at a Vans shoe store. I’ve been wearing these nonstop with any outfit I can even though they’ve taken a couple days to break in. I’ve also been obsessing over my checkered phone case, which I got from Wildflower online. It’s been extremely protective (I’m prone to always dropping my phone) while also very in style which is at times hard to find in a phone case! I’d definitely recommend the brand!

I hope you guys enjoyed another OOTD! I know I personally enjoy seeing a more casual side of some of my favorite YouTubers or bloggers. Let me know what you think of this simple look or if you have a favorite basic piece! Sometimes buying the most minimal pieces can be a great asset to your wardrobe, so don’t forget to pick up some tees or simple tank tops the next time you’re out shopping! See you guys in the next one!

First Day of Autumn OOTD!

Hey everyone! Happy Monday! It’s the start of a new week so let’s make it a great one! I want to kick this week off with an OOTD. It’s been a minute since I’ve posted one and I’ve got tons of new things for the fall. Muted tones have definitely been a big trend this year. From light pastel shades in the summer to pale yellows and auburn tones for this new season. As you know, Southern California doesn’t get extremely cold, even in the winter. Sadly, even our rainy days have become extremely limited. So although you won’t see tons of heavy jackets and snow shoes in any of my looks, I can show you the best ways to layer and get into the autumn mood even if you live somewhere warm!

Facetune-2.jpg

Facetune.jpg

I’ve taken any chance I can get to wear these pants. They’re probably some of the comfiest pants I own, partly because the fabric isn’t super thick and they move well with your body. The waist of them is so unique. The cinching really helps bring in your waist and give that old timey look. The fabric flares out near the top while a bow ties at the front to give that feminine edge. The “belt” is actually sewn to the pants so you don’t have to worry about it moving around. The black with white stripes are giving me serious Beetlejuice vibes for the Halloween time, and I kind of don’t mind!

croppants1.JPG

croppants5.JPG

It’s amazing how many looks can come from one pair of pants! I originally imagined these pants with an oversized sweater tucked into them. I’m really going for the cozy yet put together look this season. I would love to wear that outfit on a rainy day on my way to work.  For today’s OOTD though, I paired them with a simple white spaghetti strap tank and a light cardigan. Again, today was a pretty warm day so I didn’t need anything super heavy. I honestly felt super comfortable in this look but I’d totally wear it out. As for shoes, I’ve been wearing these black Rebecca Minkoff mules everywhere. I especially adore them with this outfit. They’re so easy to slip on if you’re in a hurry and I love the small jeweled details. They also carry these in white and a pale pink, but I knew personally I would wear the black ones more often.

Facetune-1.jpg

I’d also love to wear a big denim jacket with these pants. Depending on where you’re going I think a denim jacket or a cardigan like this is the best way to go. Pants like these are perfect for the work environment but can also be transformed for a fun lunch date. From the cuffed bottoms to a cozy cardigan, I’m in love with this outfit! Let me know what you think of it down below in the comments. Do you have any specific pieces that are perfect for the transition from summer to fall?

Everything’s Coming Up Roses OOTD!

Hello everyone! It’s (finally) time for another OOTD! I’m so sorry it’s taken so long but I’m super excited about this one. Whenever I go shopping, I try to think of pieces I can wear to work. Better yet, pieces that can work in a professional setting and also for the weekend! I’ve definitely found a staple piece for my wardrobe and I think you guys will enjoy it too! I posted about this on Instagram and you all were spamming my notifications with likes and comments (thank you so much by the way) so I hope this OOTD is just as awesome! Let’s get into it!

flowerpants.JPG

The main reason I’m absolutely obsessed with these jeans: look at that embroidery! I mean come on, they’re so flowery and just exude the summertime. They are also very high waisted, which makes them perfect for crop tops. High waisted pants can at times be a bit uncomfortable, but I was shocked that these were actually comfortable the entire day! I ended up finding these at Topshop about a month ago. When it comes to Topshop, I either find so many things I love or nothing at all. These jeans were a great find in my opinion though!

Image.jpg

One of the reasons I was drawn to these jeans was the two yellow stripes that run down each pant leg. Pale yellow has been such a popular color this season and I’ve actually been surprisingly into it. Sometimes I will pair these jeans with a more fitting crop top but today I opted for a more flowy one. It was definitely a warmer day, so I just wanted to feel comfy on top. The top adds a very laid back bohemian vibe, which of course is always what I’m going for! I feel like that word is a little overused on my blog but I’m not sorry about it, LOL. P.S. yes, I’m not wearing shoes because it’s SUMMER people!

rosepants2.JPG

I also really love the length of these jeans. As a shorter person, a lot of jeans end up being too long on me, so I have to roll up the bottoms. It’s so nice not to have to do that with this pair of jeans. They fall perfectly at the ankle and are fitted all the way down. Not to mention, I think they’re very flattering (especially as a curvier person). I love that these can be worn with simple sandals or with some cute all white Adidas. I’ve been loving the tennis shoe/chunky shoe trend lately, especially when they’re paired with something feminine like these jeans.

mirrorootd2.JPG

Hope you all enjoyed this short OOTD! With my new work routine, I’m going to try and be better about posting. Consistency is extremely important but one of the hardest things when it comes to blogging, honestly. But bear with me and hello to all my new readers! Please feel free to comment below any sort of content you’d like to see from me. It can be about makeup, fashion, graphic design, college, or even a Q&A. That would be super fun to post some time in the future! Have a great rest of your Saturday, everyone! xx

Glam Bohemian OOTD!

Hello lovelies! I’m back with another OOTD, yay! I’m sure you read the title and asked yourself, “Glam and bohemian are two completely opposite things! She’s losing it.” Well for this look, I did the impossible and combined some glam shoes with a totally bohemian dress! This fashion season is very unique, for example lots of modern western wear will be released. It’s not a particular look I’m into, but I thought I’d take a stab at mixing styles and doing something different! Here are some photos of the look, again I went with a more editorial style when it came to poses and the shoot altogether.

navydress6.JPG

navydress1.JPG

When I initially saw this dress in the shop, I wasn’t sure it was exactly my style. To be honest it kind of looked like a giant striped bag on the hanger, LOL. When I’m shopping, I try to keep an open mind though. An item on the hanger can look completely different on an actual person. I went shopping for this on my lunch break, so after my shift I was so excited to go try it on, and I’m so glad I did! When it comes to my body type, I really love when my waist is cinched and sleeves are long. This dress hit both those marks! I bought this piece at a store called Irene’s Story.

navydress3.JPG

Facetune.jpg

I’ve been buying lots of stripes lately, for no particular reason. The print is so easy to work with (if the stripes are vertical) and fun to style! I’m also completely obsessed with the giant pockets on the front! Nothing is better than finding pockets on the perfect summer dress. They’re easily overlooked but so incredibly useful! Changing up the direction of the stripes was a great detail to place on the pockets as well. This dress has a very deep V when it comes to the neckline. I wore this to work with a small white tank top underneath and it worked perfectly. If you need to cover up a bit for work, a simple white tank top is the easiest way to do that and still look bomb!

navydress2.JPG

navydress5.JPG

Now onto the shoes! I recently bought these Steve Maddens for work. They have two thick straps on the top and one around the ankle, secured with velcro. Since I’m on my feet all day, I need shoes that don’t have much of a heel but are still fashionable. The platform on these shoes are completely flat, so I don’t get that sharp pain in my heels. I’m actually shocked by how easy they are to walk in for over 8 hours! The thick platform is completely white, which is one reason I paired them with this dress. They compliment the white stripes so nicely in my opinion! I’ve also never had a pair of shoes that are so metallic and a rose gold color. Rose gold has been such a popular color lately, and for some reason I love how they contrast with my bohemian dress.

navydress4.JPG

Facetune-1.jpg

As for accessories, I wore my gray bralette underneath and a new necklace I bought recently. It’s very minimalistic and works with so many outfits for the summer. As for my watch, I have a post coming very soon so hang in there! 😉 There’s something very special waiting for you guys!

I hope you enjoyed today’s OOTD! I really love this dress and how adjustable it is with the drawstring waistline. I genuinely think this kind of dress would work well for any body type! Just like a wrap dress, it is very customizable to your own body. Let me know what you think of mixing glam and bohemian down in the comments below! Hope you all are having an amazing summer so far and I’ll talk to you in the next post! Love you lots! xx

Summer on the Tennis Court OOTD!

Hello friends! I’m coming at you today with another OOTD, the first one of the summer season! This look is not only perfect for the warm weather, but also is great for a work outfit if you’re in a rush. Rompers in particular are so easy to wear. Similar to dresses, you throw them on and have a complete outfit in less than 30 seconds, what’s better than that?! Normally I have a bit of a hard time finding rompers that fit me properly, but I’ve been having some good luck lately! I’d also like to mention that I took a more editorial approach with the photography, so I hope you enjoy! Without me rambling any further, let’s get to the photos!

tennis1.JPG

Facetune-10.jpg

tennis4.JPG

I was initially a big fan of this piece when I noticed the silhouette. The way the material cinches around the bust and drapes along the arms is beautiful and very feminine. The rest of the material is very loose and comfortable, making it extremely moveable and great for walking a lot. I usually gravitate towards maxi dresses that have a similar cut because it is most flattering on my body type. I bought this jumpsuit at a store called Irene’s Story.

Facetune-8.jpg

Facetune-9.jpg

Are you guys just loving this sunburn of mine? While going to the beach this morning, I wasn’t expecting it to be so hot, so your girl got quite the painful burn. Normally, when my skin looks not like a tomato, jumpsuits like these look beautiful and really show off your shoulders nicely. I especially adore the little fringe along the neckline, which adds to the feminine vibe. A piece like this would be perfect for a summer festival or even a concert!

Facetune-12.jpg

Facetune-14.jpg

Facetune-11.jpg

As for accessories I wore one of my favorite gray bralettes, which work best for strapless pieces. I know many girls can go braless but that’s a no go for me! They are very flattering while being at least a little bit functional. I believe I bought this one at a store called Owl Fish (which have been popping up randomly in Southern California) but you can find ones identical to this at Urban Outfitters or any lingerie shop I’m sure. My gold graphic necklace is a new buy from my favorite boutique called Melrose in the O.C. I rarely go for such bold neckwear but I love the bohemian vibe it adds to this look! The shoes are from Steve Madden and have been my newest obsession. The black straps are extremely cozy and stretchy. I’ve actually been wearing them to work and they’ve been perfect, especially with the more fancy platform. The cork-esque material continues to give that bohemian look. As for my watch, you guys will have to wait for another post! 😉

Facetune-13.jpg

I love the look of a denim jacket with jumpsuits or maxi dresses. It definitely makes it a bit more casual, yet still completely put together. If it gets chilly one night, but you still want to wear a bomb outfit, a denim jacket is one of the best ways to go! From the jewelry, to the shoes, the jacket, and the jumpsuit, this makes for a gorgeous outfit on a beautiful summer day!

For makeup, I went very glam today and wore my Azeredo lashes in “Legendary.” They’re very dramatic and I love the look they give! They are absolutely perfect for a night out or even for a date. They are very well made and I’ve genuinely enjoyed getting to use them with so many makeup looks! To top it off, they can be worn up to 15 times and 5% of their earnings go to the Cancer Research Institute. I have an entire post about how I styled them here if you’re interested. Don’t forget to use code SAGE10 at checkout for 10% off, loves! You know I got you on those sweet deals!

Alright I hope you all enjoyed the post and the photos! There were lots of shadows to work with so a bit of editing was required of course. Let me know down in the comments what your go to summer outfit is, I’d love to read them! Talk to you all very soon and make sure to check back for a special post in the near future! I have a little something for you guys. xx
