Christmas at Santa’s Village by the Sea (Blogmas Day 3)

Christmas at Santa’s Village by the Sea (Blogmas Day 3)

Happy Blogmas Day 3 everyone!!! We’re still going strong! I’m actually really excited about today’s post. Not only because a lot more work went into it, but because this event is sure to get you in the Christmas mood! Living in south Orange County, my city puts on an event every year on December 1st. The city is often referred to as the “Spanish Village by the Sea” but to transform it for Christmas, this event was called “Santa’s Village by the Sea.” Great marketing in my opinion! The shops along downtown are all open with some sales and decorated with Christmas lights. Some of my favorite shops even offered Christmas cookies, champagne, and charcuterie. Everything was so lit up and beautiful. It was also quite the chilly night so us Californians got a little taste of what a cold December night is like, LOL.

I bundled up in one of my favorite holiday sweaters with some boots and a beanie from Topshop. Downtown was way more busy than I expected but it was awesome seeing so many people out celebrating. Lots of shops had little kiosks that lined the streets. Hot chocolate and coffee was of course being sold (and you know your girl couldn’t pass that up.) If you were in the mood for a snack, kettle corn and cotton candy was also being sold. This event was a great opportunity for small business to sell their jewelry or homemade goods as well. It’s always fun to support a local business! One shop even had a small skate ramp for the kids (you can see that in the video) and was probably one of the cutest things I’ve ever set my eyes on.

IMG_2515-1.jpeg

It was honestly so fun just walking around, taking in all the sights and shopping around some of my favorite clothing stores. It really did feel like a winter wonderland (minus the snow of course because we’re still in California people!) This would be the perfect date for you and your special someone if you’re ever in the area next year. What would make this event even more special would be a small ice skating rink or fake snow! So without me rambling on about this awesome event, check out the video below to watch all the fun, Christmasy things that went on! Talk to you all tomorrow xx

How I Edit my Instagram Photos! (Step by Step Tutorial with Apps I Use)

Hey everyone! Happy Monday! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend and are ready to start a new week. You guys have been leaving me the sweetest comments on my Instagram about how I’m editing my photos. I’ve been using some new processes and loving how they’ve been turning out. I think my photos are getting a fairly similar look, so I thought I’d go step by step with what I’m doing. Some apps I use you must have an Adobe Creative Suite account and others are completely free to use without an account like that. I’ll be editing a photo I took the other day down by the pier. You can find the version I posted here. With that being said, let’s jump right into this edit!

IMG_1524.jpeg

Alrighty guys so here is the original photo, straight from my camera, untouched by any editing apps. This was taken vertically, which I normally don’t do but wanted to get as many of the palm trees in the shot as possible. PRO TIP: I prefer to take my photos from farther away or zoomed completely out because I can always crop them later. As you can see, the colors are kind of dull and this just seems like an average photo. Until editing comes in of course!!

So to start off this edit, I’m going to open my Lightroom CC app, which is part of the Adobe Creative Suite, but most of these adjustments you can make on any other editing app. I simply use Lightroom for the filter I bought on Etsy, which I have an entire post on. IMG_1564.jpeg

So firstly, I will import the photo into the app. The first thing that I like to adjust is the size of the photo. I normally will do the 1:1 ratio crop, which makes a perfect square and will fit Instagram perfectly. However for this photo, I will customize the crop length and go for something more vertical so the palms will be included. Cropping is something you can do on literally any editing app or even in the Photos app which is configured on your iPhone.

IMG_1565.jpeg

Next, I will apply the filter I use on every one of my photos. This one is called “Golden” and it’s from a preset pack I bought from Etsy. In the post I linked above, you can learn all about how I got this filter into Lightroom from Etsy. As you can see, once the filter is applied it changes the colors quite a bit. It’s a little less saturated and the tones have shifted a bit. I prefer my colors a little less saturated and tones more on the cool side, which you’ll see later on how I achieve that. The cool thing about the Etsy presets is that you can still adjust aspects like saturation, brightness, contrast, white balance, etc. So what you see here is not set in stone. Every photo is different so the preset will actually be altered depending on the photo.

IMG_1566.jpeg

So now I will go into detailing. It’s a bit hard to see here, but my skin actually has some red splotches and I look white as a ghost (which yes, I’m not extremely tan right now but don’t @ me, LOL). So I will go into the “Light” section at the bottom of the screen, where you can find shadows, whites, blacks, brightness, and anything to do with lighting. Since this preset makes my skin look extremely white, I usually have to bring down the shadows and exposure. It’s honestly all about playing with these options and figuring out what works best for a specific photo. I probably spend the most time in the “Light” section trying to fix any bugs the preset may have applied. Normally by the time I’m done the odd marks on skin or anywhere else is gone and we can move on to the next step.

IMG_1569.jpeg

So now I head over to the “Color” tab at the bottom. I usually have to change the luminance in the red tones, which helps fix that reddish color in my skin. Usually the orange tones need adjusting as well, which helps bring a little more color back into your skin tone. I’ll then head over to the teal and blue colors for adjusting. I’ll bring down the hue of both of them, which changes the color of my jeans and the sky quite a bit. I prefer them to be more on the teal side than the navy side. Of course, my jeans aren’t actually that color as you can see in the original, but I personally think it’s a great color and matches my Instagram theme. If you look closely, it changed the hue of anything that was the color of my jeans in the photo. For example the ocean is now more teal as well as the lining of the roof in the background and the blue in my flannel.

IMG_1570.jpeg

Now for the final step (in the Lightroom app) is to make small adjustments with vibrance and saturation. If I think any of the colors I changed are too much, I simply bring down the saturation or vibrance. Similarly, if I think the colors just aren’t there yet, I’ll bring up the saturation and vibrance. So simple! As I mentioned before, it’s all about playing with these settings and finding what works best for the colors in your photo. I will also keep in mind some of the colors that are already in my feed and try to match them as best I can. Once all of this is done, make sure to SAVE what you’ve just edited.

IMG_1573.jpeg

Okay guys we’re switching it up and heading over to the Afterlight app. This is where I apply subtle dusty filters, which gives a bit of a vintage effect. It’s something you can see on almost all of my photos on Instagram, as well as many other Instagrammers. These filters in Afterlight are accessible to anyone. At the bottom you’ll see a little film icon, which is where you’ll find dusty filters, light filters, and more! I go to the dusty section, where there’s a ton of different types of “dust.” Some have more specs, some have less, some will apply a faded effect to your photo, others will darken. It honestly all depends on the photo for which dusty filter works best. For today’s edit, I used #9, as I thought the placement of the dust specs looked nice. You can rotate and flip the filters depending on your photo. You can totally skip this effect, but it’s simply an extra step I like to take with my photos.

IMG_1574.JPGIMG_1575.JPGSo here is the final edit and a side by side! As you can tell, a lot of the ones have changed a bit to my preferences. Editing photos in this way definitely takes some time, but I personally find it very fun to watch a photo transform and added to the rest of my theme. It’s all about finding fun in being creative and not simply “doing it for the gram.” Let me know what you think of this edit or if this post was helpful to you! If you guys have any questions regarding editing, please leave them below! Talk to you all soon and have an amazing week! xx

How I’m Trying to Improve My Health

Hey guys! Happy Sunday and I hope you are all doing fantastic! Since I am so busy Monday through Thursday with work, I love taking time on the weekend to take care of myself and focus on what truly makes my heart sing. One of those things quite recently has been working out and finding different ways to get my body moving. For today’s post I want to talk a little bit about my health journey and where I am now. My hope for this post is that it gives you fresh ideas on how to better your own health and give you motivation to improve solely for yourself and to feel good!

My Active & Healthy Past

As I grew up, specifically through elementary school and junior high, I was an extremely active kid. I tried every sport my school had to offer and I played soccer for 8 years, pretty well if I might add. Soccer (or football as some of you out there call it) was my sport and I put a lot of time into it. I worked up the levels and ended up playing club soccer as a forward or midfielder. With practices at least twice a week for a couple hours each, I knew how to work out and push myself alongside my teammates. Through sports, I was taught how to stretch correctly and how to condition my body to run farther, faster, and beat the competition.

I never had health issues when I was younger, which I was very blessed with. I also never had rock hard abs, probably because I was young and exercised for the sake of having fun and being with my team, not to build muscle or improve my still small body. My family didn’t eat fast food very often and my mom cooked almost everyday. The one flaw I (and some of my family) has always had is a sugar addiction. That stuff is actually like a drug and it’s still something I struggle with everyday.

A Downhill Fall

As high school arrived, I quit playing soccer. There were many reasons for my quitting but one being I was the smallest on the field and although I was the fastest, I was getting hurt often by taller and stronger girls. I decided to pick up tennis through my school (a little reluctantly I will say) and it was a much slower pace than the sport I was used to. I was also growing up and didn’t change my eating habits. I’m sure a lot of you can relate: as you get older you MUST change your eating habits. There is no way you can eat like a child and have a slim figure in your teens or 20’s, am I right? I also ended up on birth control because of my sever acne. I’ve touched upon this topic a bit on my blog, but let me know if you’d like a separate post about it. It’s something I’m quite open about.  One of the side effects is weight gain and while looking back at photos now, I can see when it physically hit me. Long story short, I wasn’t that fit little girl anymore and I don’t think I even realized it.

College Years & Health Realizations

Without me even knowing, I had gained a bit of weight. It snuck up on me out of no where and I honestly didn’t even understand to what extent until college. People around me were going to the gym very often or taking workout classes, which wasn’t even on my mind in the slightest. It wasn’t really until junior and senior year that I started taking my health a little more seriously. I was uncomfortable in my body and didn’t know exactly how to fix it. The summer before my junior year I started researching veganism and although I never went vegan, it taught me a lot about food and health. That summer I did see very small changes once I put the effort in. I was going to the gym as consistently as possible (every other day) and trying to eat as healthy as I could. At one point I completely cut out eggs and tried to eat minimal cheese. I grew up on almond and rice milk so drinking cow’s milk has never been an interest for me.

The summer before senior year, I went to Europe as many of you know. I lost about 6 pounds in those three weeks simply by walking 5-6 miles everyday and eating strictly three meals a day. That is what our schedule allowed for when we were abroad and I barely noticed I was dropping some pounds. Of course, when I got back to the states I wasn’t exercising nearly as consistently as I was in Europe and snacking in between meals. I gained those pounds back, which was extremely disappointing for me. Although I hadn’t lost a massive amount of weight, I hadn’t seen a difference in the scale like that in a long time, shockingly. But it gave me a sense of what worked and what I needed to do.

Senior year I had a gym membership and started going as often as I could. It started to become a bigger part of my life and I could slowly see the difference it was making. Although these changes were tiny and most times I couldn’t see any change on the scale, I was feeling better in my body and stronger overall. Feeling strong was an amazing feeling and it became addicting. Of course, with classes and my graphic design portfolio project I still wasn’t as consistent as I could be.

What’s Up with My Health Currently?

Similar to the summer before, I went to Europe again this year and had a similar situation happen. I came back and had again lost 5 or 6 pounds. This time, I was determined to keep it off and use it as a kicking off point for more weight loss. Going to the gym or going on runs is increasingly becoming more important to me. While I’m still getting used to my work schedule, I work out at least two times a week. Which I know isn’t enough if I want to see significant changes, but I’m in no rush. If this has to be a slow process in order for it to become a permanent lifestyle, so be it. I’m in this for my own health and I know it’s going to be a bumpy road.

I’m still not at the health level I want to be at, but I’m taking the time to learn what works for me. I work so hard at the gym and actually enjoy going now! I like challenging myself to do better and push it a little further each time. Another way I’ve been working out is by attending classes and genuinely investing in my health. I recently took a spin class which kicked my butt so hard but was a great way to switch up my workout routine. I’ve also been looking into barre, yoga, and pilates classes. Some days after work I will also go on a beach walk, which is only about 2 miles but so beautiful at sunset! Find things that interest you and will add variety to your life. Hopefully you’ll find something you enjoy so much that it won’t feel like exercise!

sunset.JPG

Long story short, I’m still on my health journey and I have a ways to go but I’m determined to make this a lifestyle and not fall into fad diets that don’t last. I want to be healthy and live a long life. That doesn’t mean I’ll slip up once in a while, but that’s where my mind has been lately. I think one of the most exciting things is noticing my clothes fit just a tad better and I feel more comfortable overall! Here’s to your health and kicking some butt! Let’s have a conversation down in the comments: let me know your favorite ways to workout or some of your favorite healthy meals to make! Talk to you all soon! xx

A Typical Summer Day in Orange County!

Hello beautiful readers! Wow has it been a hot summer so far in Southern California! Like, even warmer than usual…into the triple digits some days! While extreme humidity is not my forte, there’s nothing better than sunshine beating down during a pool or beach day. My city is made for the summertime, which of course makes it my favorite season. I thought I would share with you a typical summer day in Orange County, where I grew up! When I’m not at work, you can probably find me in the ocean, on the beach, or of course chilling in my favorite pool floaties!

Pool Days & Mermaid Tails

Facetune-11.jpg

Facetune-6.jpg

Facetune-5.jpg

Little fun fact about me: I’ve lived in the same house for 17 years (excluding my four years in college of course). I learned how to swim in this very pool, and it continues to be one of my favorite spots during the summer. My family loves buying these unique floaties for our pool; they add a bit of pizzazz to our backyard and are the epitome of the summer season. This year, we purchased an adorable mermaid tail floaty. It’s all pink with a scale pattern and of course a giant mermaid tail at the back. Throughout my life, I was called a mermaid because I spent so much time under water, and this floaty really brings that image to life. I can finally be a real little mermaid! We also got a rainbow themed floaty that arches all the way over your head. If you look closely, you can see the bits of sparkles inside the actual ring. It’s so fun, whimsical, and brings me back to my childhood!

Other days if I’m not getting into the water, I love laying out a towel and tanning. I bring a good book, my sunglasses, and some suntan lotion for my face. I probably don’t wear sunscreen as much as I should, considering I live somewhere that is sunny most of the time. I love these little moments where I can enjoy the sound of the water and feel the sunshine while I’m reading. That’s what summer is all about!

Laguna Beach Excursions & Swimming with Dolphins

Facetune-7.jpg

Facetune-10.jpg

Facetune-9.jpg

Facetune-8.jpg

If I’m not lounging by the pool, you can definitely find me at my favorite place: the beach! I grew up with surfers and skaters and living within a five minute drive from the Pacific. It has created the most magical childhood for me and I couldn’t imagine my life without the sea. This place is simply a part of me and I will always come back to it.

On this day, we decided to go to Tablerock beach in Laguna. It was a short walk down some stairs to get to this beach (there’s usually lots of stairs to get to these beaches). The day was scorching, the sand was hot, and the water was cooling. There is no better feeling than laying out for a while, then jumping into the waves! The water was particularly blue on this day and we were visited by a pod of dolphins. You can always know there is no danger around and can feel protected when the dolphins are present. This beach is very special because if you swim around the rocks to the left, there is a secluded area with a cave leading to more beaches! There are endless gems in Laguna, which is one reason why we love going there. It truly is a unique place with many memories from my childhood!

Some days my sister will want to go surfing, so we pack up the car with the board, our towels, water, snacks, and our sunnies. I love tanning on the sand (either listening to music or reading) and watching her catch some waves. Other times, I will bring my own rash guard and join her out in the water. Surfing definitely isn’t an easy thing, but sometimes simply sitting out in the water can be very peaceful and calming, especially early in the morning when no one is out yet.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and got a glimpse into my summer activities in Orange County! It really is a beautiful place and would recommend stopping by if you’re ever in Southern California. Let me know what your favorite summer activity is down in the comments! Talk to you all very soon! xx

Blogmas Day 8: December Days at Dog Beach

Hey guys! I’m sorry this post is going up so late, but it’s been a crazy 48 hours. I was thinking about what I wanted to post today, because I’m so motivated to post everyday until Christmas! I was thinking about the activities I did today and although this may not be the most Christmasy post, I thought I’d post a Day in My Life, December version! So sit back, relax, and take a little dip into the life of a college student!

To start off the day, my roommates and I took a walk over to one of our favorite coffee places, Better Buzz! This place seriously has the best coffee and some pretty top notch acai bowls! The decor is so adorable and there’s not coffee shop similar to this one! I ended up ordering an ice blended decaf mocha that was honestly to die for!

IMG_6544.jpeg

My sister ended up meeting up with us for a little while and we decided to walk over to Winchell’s to get a donut for a dollar. This is a great cheap place to get breakfast, although we don’t go very often since it’s quite unhealthy. I went with the classics and got a simple chocolate bar donut. Ya know, to go with my chocolate coffee, yikes! I’m okay with splurging once in a while!

IMG_6546.jpeg

IMG_6547.jpeg

My sister and the three of us went back to our little apartment and just talked for a little while, which it was very nice to relax with some of my favorite people. After my sister left, my roommate and I planned to go on a beach run, but ultimately chose to go to dog beach instead in hopes of getting the chance to meet some doggos. This was my favorite part of the day, it was just so calm and simple. Instead of taking a bunch of normal pictures I could take on a daily basis, I tried to take some video for you guys! They aren’t the best, I’ll admit, but you’ll get to see some waves and some pups! In the last video I got a clip of my favorite dog breed ever: A PUG!!! Anyone who knows me understands how obsessed I am with pugs. P.S. I’m sorry these videos embedded in such a large format, but I’m not super familiar with how WordPress deals with videos. Anyways, enjoy the puppers!

IMG_6548.jpeg

After a lovely walk on the sand and dipping my feet in the cold water of the Pacific, it was back to reality. We had some major adulting to do today. Our sink has been having issues in the apartment, so we had a plumber come in to fix it. Luckily it was fairly stress free, and it’s fixed now! During that time I packed a suitcase to head back home to Orange County. It’s always a nice drive, and I jammed to some of my current music favorites! I hope you enjoyed this mini Day in My Life post, let me know what you thought down in the comments! I feel so blessed to live in a place where in the middle of December, I can still walk through the sand and enjoy the sound of the waves!

Sunshine Blogger Award!

Hey everyone! So recently I was nominated a couple times for the Sunshine Blogger Award. I have been doing these ever since the first year I started this blog. I know it’s something every other blogger does, but I do think its a great way for your readers to get to know you even better. So without further ado, I’ll jump into the different questions from both BumbleBeautyBee and Tamsin. Thank you both for nominating me, and definitely check out their blogs!

Award Rules

  • Thank the person who nominated you and leave a link to their blog.
  • Answer the questions the nominator gave you.
  • Nominate others for the award.
  • Notify the other bloggers you have nominated.

Tamsin’s Questions

If you had to live in a different country for the rest of you life, which one would it be? Definitely where I am right now. I grew up in Southern California and I’ve just always had such a love for it. I’ve seen a lot of the world and although I absolutely adore places like London and could see myself living there for a short time, I will always come home to California. I want to raise my future children here and give them a great life like I was given.

Favorite ice cream flavor? I am a die hard chocolate fan. I branched out with different gelato flavors in Italy, but my go to has always been normal chocolate. Not super exciting I know, but my close friends know you never come between me and chocolate!

Cats or dogs? DOGGOS!! In the last few years, I have been absolutely obsessed with pugs and I plan on getting one hopefully within the next 5 years. I would love to have my first officially apartment out of college and share it with a little pug puppy. (I’m making a pug mug in ceramics right now if that helps convince you of how much I love them!)

What sport would you compete in, in the Olympics and why? Hmm, this is a hard one because I don’t really care for sports, lol. I played soccer for 8 years when I was younger, so maybe that? They have an Olympic soccer team right? Wow, I should probably know that haha.

Apple or Samsung? Apple absolutely all the way. I’ve only ever had Apple phones (aside from the sliding phone I had when I was 13). Especially with graphic design, it’s very important to have a great device like an Apple computer to use the Adobe products with. Although the phones have a lot of problems (which I’m sure they allow so you can keep buying their products) I believe they are the most user friendly and versatile devices in the technological market.

Favorite book of all time? The Great Gatsby. I’ve talked about this book in other award posts, but it’s just so amazing. When I was younger I used to sit for hours and just read. I was in love with the books Island of the Blue Dolphins and The Year of Janie’s Diary. I have very old copies of both these books from when my mom was a little girl and they’re pieces that will be important to me for the rest of my life.

What’s your biggest cringe moment? Oh yikes. Honestly its hard to choose because I’m kind of embarrassing everyday. I’m kind of clumsy here and there and just kind of a silly person altogether. But one cringe moment I can remember from back in high school was when I was walking up a flight of stairs. I went to a private Christian school, so we had to wear uniforms. I was wearing a skirt that day with my backpack and books in my hand. I ended up tripping up the stairs and (almost) completely eating it. I’m SO lucky no one was around though because if someone was behind me they would’ve seen right up my freaking skirt. And usually those stairways were packed with people, so someone was definitely looking out for me that day!

Last time you were REALLY happy? Truly 100% happy?? Hmm, probably when I was in Europe. Every day was just so filled with excitement and adventure. I really miss that and spending time with my group that went with me. It was so magical and I need to go back soon. The month after Europe was also a truly happy time for me as well. You know those specific people that just make you feel happy whenever you’re with them? Without going into too much detail, I had someone like that..you know who you are.

How’s your day going? Very good, thank you! I spent the night in downtown San Diego last night with a couple friends which was pretty fun. I ended up sleeping in super late because we didn’t get home until 1:30, but I have a beach day planned with my roommate today. So after I finish this post, we’re off to Ocean Beach!

Sunny holiday or snowy holiday? 100% sunny holiday! I don’t know how to do snow.

One word that sums up your personality? Optimistic. I try to be as positive as possible with myself and especially with others. It’s hard to always lift myself up in difficult times but I will always try to cheer someone else up whenever they need it.

BumbleBeautyBee’s Questions

If you had the chance of a “do-over” in life, what would you do differently and why? To be honest, I don’t think anyone should regret the choices they’ve made in life. Even if it created an outcome you didn’t want, it got you to where you are now. I’m a firm believer in everything happens for a reason, so I try to remind myself of that if I ever make a wrong decision or something isn’t going my way. So really, I don’t think I’d ever want a “do-over.” One thing I would tell my past self as a sophomore in college when I was going through some pretty hard stuff is to not be afraid to stick up for myself. I stayed very quiet in situations that needed my voice and my courage. However, since I went through that, I now know how to handle confrontation and in certain situations, I know it’s absolutely needed for you to speak your mind.

What are you most proud of? (Can be a personal achievement or a person, etc. anything you want.) I’m super proud to be an (almost) college graduate. College changes you as a person. There are so many ups and downs, I could make a long list of everything I’ve experienced during this time. And the thought of graduating in 7 months is absolutely mind blowing to me. I know most people don’t even get the opportunity to go to college because of various reasons but knowing I was blessed enough to go through this journey and to finish it is very exciting to me.

If you could only keep five possessions, what would they be? This is a tricky one. My mom used to scrapbook a ton when I was younger, so I’d probably keep one of those. My copy of The Year of Janie’s Diary that I mentioned above (it’s surprisingly worth a lot since it’s an old book and probably not printed anymore), my phone to always keep in contact with people, a sketchbook, and a pencil. At least I’d always be able to keep myself busy sketching. That’s a really hard question, but very interesting to think about!

Is there a moment in life that defined who you are today? If so, what? Yes! I feel like this is my answer to so many questions. But the person I was before I left for Europe is not the person I am today. I mean, I’m the same in most ways but my perspectives have completely flipped. Traveling to 5 foreign countries opened my eyes in so many ways and made me a more confident person. Confident in myself and my beliefs particularly, but also sometimes things aren’t always as they seem. And that includes people. The world is such a big place and there is so much amazing diversity and always something new to learn. I could write an entire post about how my thoughts have changed since coming back to the states, but I won’t include all that in this answer.

If you won the lottery what would you do? Wow, those options are endless. I think it’d be really cool to buy my parents their dream house. They’ve given me everything my entire life and I wish I had the means to give it all back. I’d also take my sister traveling. She wants to see different cultures and I’d love to do that with her. I’d also love to give back to society in some way. Help those who need it most. There are so many different charities I could give to, but I’d love to do something unique to help if I won the lottery. Lastly, I’d love to pour the rest of that money into what I love doing, whether that’s art, graphic design, or this blog. If I had the means, I’d do SO much more with this blog and create the most amazing content for my readers who are so kind and deserve the best I can give.

What are you most afraid of? I hope this doesn’t sound too cheesy, but it probably will. I am so afraid of being alone forever, lol. Being single is fine for a while; it helps you find who you are and what you really want to do without the distraction of another person. It allows you to fulfill yourself so you can be the best for your significant other. But some days I wonder if I’ll ever get to be committed to someone again. I love commitment and getting it back in return. I dream about being with the right person, whoever that is, and having a cute little beach fam. Lol, yep so cheesy.

What does a perfect day look like to you? I’ve answered this in a previous awards post, but essentially working out in the morning, getting brunch with friends, going to the beach all day, and having a bonfire at night. I could do that everyday in the summer!

What is your pet peeve? Bad drivers. I literally cannot stand people who don’t pay attention or don’t know how to drive. It is so easy to hurt people with a car, so pay attention! I don’t think I ever get as heated as I do when I’m behind someone who doesn’t know how to drive properly.

What is the most expensive thing you’ve broken? Definitely my iPhone. I’ve cracked that darn thing about three times now and it’s just so frustrating.

What is the craziest conversation you have ever overheard? Hahaha, this question is hilarious. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve heard any insane conversations. I’m not much of an eavesdropper. Even if I had though, I’d probably stay super quiet and pretend like I didn’t hear it.

Alright so now comes the point where I’m supposed to nominate other bloggers. Thing is, I’ve done so many of these awards posts that I’m not sure who else to nominate! My Wishlist: Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Palette

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve made a “My Wishlist” post! I started this a year or two ago to allow myself to shop around online and talk about the best things I found in order to reduce the need to actually buy them. The temptation is real with online shopping, and I get a chance to showcase more of my personal style with you guys. Usually it is focused on apparel, but this time I thought I’d bring back these themed posts with a makeup product. So let’s get to it!

Morphe-x-Jaclyn-Hill-Palette.jpg

Recently I found a collaboration palette between the makeup brand Morphe and Jaclyn Hill. I was just perusing around YouTube when I found a few reviews on this palette. Now I have only ordered a few brushes from Morphe and I just recently bought a highlighter called Champagne Pop that Jaclyn Hill helped create (I have a full post about that highlighter here, it’s amazing!) So although I am not extremely familiar with many products from these brands, I absolutely fell in love with all the colors from this palette.

Seriously just take a minute to appreciate that perfection. Every single color in these palette is absolutely gorgeous. From the mattes to the shimmer shades, from the nudes to the electric blues, this palette absolutely has it all! I went to research how much it was retailing for, and unfortunately it is out of stock (I sort of expected that, considering how freaking gorgeous it is). Check out Manny MUA’s review of this palette, its a really great summary. And of course check out Jaclyn Hill’s own review of her palette, she just seems like the sweetest person ever!

I signed up on the Morphe website to be emailed when it is back in stock. Because girl, I NEED this palette in my life! The more I see it and research it, the more I’d love to have it in my makeup collection. Especially if you watch Jaclyn’s video, be prepared to have a new obsession. You have been forewarned. I think this palette has the perfect range of shades. You have the warmer pinks, mustards, and reds for the summer season and blues and purples for the spring. Then the burgundy and browns are spot on for the fall. Lastly the greens and darker shades will be optimal for the winter season. There’s just so many different combinations and looks you could create with this palette. I know if I had my hands on it, there’d be endless makeup looks on this blog!

So congratulations to Jaclyn for making such a stunning selection. In her video she mentions just how long it took to create it and how much of her heart she put into it. It definitely shows and it’s something to be proud of. Here’s to hoping I can purchase it sometime soon in the future! Let me know what you think of this palette down below in the comments or if you have it yourself, what are your opinions on it??
