The Only Christmas Candle You’ll Ever Need! (Blogmas Day 10)

Hello everyone! Happy Monday!! The start to a new week, so let’s make it a good one! Starting a new week is always a bit difficult for me, so I hope this post makes your day just a bit better! Firstly, I’d like to thank you guys for all the positive feedback on Blogmas this year. You guys seem to be enjoying the posts so far and that makes me SO happy!! So let’s get started with today’s post. Yesterday I did a whole Christmas grocery haul specifically from Trader Joe’s. I’m going to bounce off that today and introduce you guys to the best candle I’ve ever owned.

I’d like to mention that I’m someone who has a really hard time with candles. I absolutely adore the vibe they give. They’re so calming and the flickering of the fire is always beautiful. However, I tend to get headaches pretty easily when they’re lit, which has been a huge bummer. I get headaches pretty easily in general, but it’s always guaranteed if a candle is lit. I’ve found that soy candles tend to not have this effect, but it’s still risky. Recently though, I was introduced to this Cedar Balsam candle from Trader Joe’s from my wonderful coworkers. We’ve been burning it since before Thanksgiving because we all love it so much. It hasn’t given me a headache and I can finally enjoy the scent of Christmas!

The best way I can describe this candle is: Christmas in a little tin. At first, I thought it smelled exactly like a pine tree. Which has been so nice because I grew up with a fake tree my whole life. Our tree always looks beautiful and full but our house never really smells like a fresh tree. With this candle though, you 100% get that holiday vibe. Even though the scent is technically Cedar Balsam, it still reminds me of a lovely pine tree.

They had a couple large barrels of this same candle at the store, so I stocked up! Just in case they ever decide to discontinue it. Apparently, they also have a gingerbread scented candle that is even more popular! Let me know if you guys have ever heard of that candle or can vouch for how amazing it is. These candles are about $4 each, which I think is a really amazing price for a candle considering the amount of wax inside the tin. Of course, being the designer I am, I have to bring up the packaging. What else would you expect from me?? Firstly, I LOVE that it comes in an adorable silver tin. It just feels so Christmasy and appropriate for the holidays. I also love the simplicity, color, and fonts used on the label. Sometimes, it’s nice not to have the expected red or green patterns.

I hope you guys enjoyed this short little post about this awesome candle! It really is one of the best and you don’t have to deal with the crowds that are usually in places like Bath and Body Works. Let me know in the comments if you know about this candle or if you’ve tried it. See you all soon!! xx

June Favorites!

June Favorites!

Hellooo! I wanted to share with you guys some things I’ve been loving for this month. Some of these things I’ve written about in detail but I wanted to make a post of everything for specifically this month all together. I’ll have the links to each respective product down below if I’ve written about them. Let’s get to it:

Alrighty so the first one is perfume and body sprays. I’ve absolutely loved the Waikiki and Oahu scents from Bath and Body Works. They smell just like the summer and very fresh. They’re body sprays so they aren’t overbearing. I also love so much the packaging. It perfectly fits the scents and gives that nice summery vibe that everyone looks for during the season! The middle product is my lovely Coco Chanel Mademoiselle perfume. It comes in a lovely little glass bottle with a white and gold top. (Technically it doesn’t even have a top, all you have to do is push down on the top and the perfume will spray). The actually perfume inside is a beautiful rosy color which I think is super cute. I guess I would describe the scent as lovely and sophisticated. It’s probably the most expensive perfume I own but I absolutely love it.

The next product is my Real Techniques foundation brush. I’ve been meaning to post about this for a while now but this is so awesome. I’ve had a lot of foundation brushes and this one is definitely the best so far. It’s a fairly smallish brush that’s very soft and slightly fluffy. It gives great coverage (perfect for me since I have bad skin) and is very even when applying foundation. I ordered this online when I was at school from Ulta. I try to clean this often, maybe every two weeks but I don’t get to that as often as I’d like. I think it’d be great if I could clean it once a week but it’s a bit of a process.

Sticking with the theme of beauty products, I’ve been loving white eyeliner. This is the NYX white eyeliner which I got at Target. I only apply this on my waterline. It really does help to open up and brighten the eyes. When I first bought this I had trouble with it; some of the product kept getting onto my lower lashes and it just looked messy. I’ve learned, however, that I just need to be careful and slow with it. It turns out way better that way and I avoid getting it on my lower lashes. If it does get on them, I’ll simply clean them up with a q-tip.

Next is my amazing soy candle from Anthropologie. I made a post about this which you can find here. I’ve really been loving this. It gives my room such a beautiful, light, almost citrusy scent. It’s not overbearing which is awesome because I get headaches easily from strong scents. I love that this is a soy candle, I seem to do better with those and not get headaches. It’s the perfect summer scent; if you’d like to know more about it, go ahead and check out that post. 🙂

Lastly is my Rainbow sandals. I had been wanting these for so long and I finally got them! They’re so so so comfy and perfect for a casual outfit or the beach! I’ve actually been wearing these to work as well. I was surprised that I didn’t need to break them in at all or get any blisters. I was expecting that but they’ve actually been super comfortable the entire time I’ve worn them. I have an entire post about these as well (here), so check that out if you like!

I hope you guys enjoyed my June favorites! All these items have been perfect for this warm summer month so hopefully it inspired you. If you have any questions or comments about these products, let me know below! Have a wonderful evening everyone! 🙂

Since I cannot have candles in my dorm at school, I have really taken advantage of this new candle I got from Anthropologie. This is a soy candle and it smells so natural and beautiful. It’s made of pomelo and sea salt. I am very sensitive to strong scents; they tend to give me a headache. However, thankfully this is not the case with soy candles and I can actually enjoy them. The packaging is absolutely beautiful for this one and you get so much for your money. It’s a good size container so the candle has been lasting very long. The tin makes it very cute and casual and the scent fills the room with a soft, slightly citrusy smell.
